There is no way Trap could play McCarthy as a winger and McClean as a centre mid! That defies complete logic.

The only thing I can see it being is Walters or Long droping onto the wing and have 5 in midfield...

                                                  Westwood

    McShane                O'Shea                        O'Dea                  Kelly

                                 Whelan     McCarthy   McClean

           McGeady                                                                  Long

                                                    Walters

You could call this a 4-3-3 also.

Just against Brazil he played on the wing, he was just an extra striker against Macadonia in those 2 minutes.

McLean must be acting the goat with his comment. Surely

It brings to mind Trap bringing McLean on against Spain when we're 4-nil down, it was like he was saying here is your poxy hero, let's see what he can do now.

Now if he plays an arseways 3532145 and we do sh*t against Serbia, it will be a case of ah well tried that it didn't work now it's back to the 442..

Faith in humanity is low in this one, can't see any manager (seria A aside) purposely losing a match

ffs... that makes about as,much sense as cox on the wing...

Probably less sense to be fair

Could be gone completely nuts and stickin' Mccarthy on the wing.. Either way, Mcclean is a work horse and always chasing so may work out

your right...and thats just the problem... not with mcclean, but the "systems men-tal-aty" ... always chasing.

were always chasing the game- trap likes it that way. why not try to dictate the pace of it?
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn

Expecting it to be more like this lads as Trap will deploy 1 c/m to sit in front off the 2 c/b's as always and will prob bring McClean in to sit just ahead and play Walters on the right to assist McShane if need be and McGeady playing primarily on the wing but freedom to roam as McClean will act as the cover for him
                Westwood
McShane   O'Shea   O'Dea     Kelly
                  Whelan

        McCarthy
                          McClean
Walters
                                    McGeady
                   Long
