The UK Office is impeccable. I refuse to give the US Office a chance based on what little of it I've bore witness to. It doesn't help that I generally can't stand Steve Carell.

Speaking of the UK Office, Is After Life any good?

UK one is terrible, very dated dry Tan humor of that era. More cringey than anything else.

I really liked Extras and After Life though.

Its meant to be cringy..that was the point. In no world is the US version anywhere close to matching it.

Its supposed to be awkward, cringey and funny but its just cringey. Theres a difference between the characters and their dialog being cringey and funny, and the outright "humor" of the show just being cingey.

Everyone I know who has seen both have said the US one is better.

I couldn't get beyond the first couple of episodes of the American version. Pale imitation of a brilliant original and I didn't have the patience to persevere with it. 'After Life' is the best thing Gervais has done since though I liked 'Extras' as well.

It might sound strange but I honestly don't think they are comparable. The best thing the US Office did was go it's own way with it - turned into a very different show to the UK one after a disastrous pilot episode in which it tried to replicate the original almost scene for scene.

The only characters that are comparable are the receptionist and the fella who fancies her (who's a slightly annoying character in both shows)

I've just finished series 2 of Preacher. An absolutely bonkers show, but very enjoyable.

Fully agree, US Office is very good. Nice easy watch with sprinkling of laugh of loud moments. Watched the UK one first and hated it. Dry tan humour at its worse. Thought it might be a Gervais thing but thoroughly enjoyed Afterlife.
