2 episodes into Mare of Easttown, really good so far.

Watched The Flight Attendant last week, really enjoyed it, Kaley Cuoco is excellent in it and the music is class!

Started watching The Shield. 3 episodes in. Very fast-paced. Maybe too fast-paced. They accelerate through some stories leaving no room for breath. A major storyline in the very first episode encapsulates this. The acting is pretty good where it matters but some of the guest stars are awful. The first time I watched it years ago it took me ages to realise there was no cursing, so it might seem odd of me to say this - but the lack of cursing in the show is glaring.

People always talk about Tony Soprano and Walter White being TV's leading antiheroes but The Shield came before Breaking Bad so Vic Mackey is another who set the trend but doesn't get talked about as much.

Incredible transformation from his role in the Commish. I mean he was 27/28 in it!

The Serengeti Rules.
A really good natural world movie documentary on PBS America tmoro (Fri. on Sky 174) at 1 o'clock. Seen it before, its about how they figured out that some animals are what they call 'keystones'. Animals that basically hold a whole eco system together and if you remove them the whole ecology of an area falls apart.

It was decent but the podcast is better I think. Hard to say any of it is enjoyable considering the subject and the heartbreak of the family and the impact it’s had others too.

The Netflix doc is being released next week and this will have the blessing of the family.  It seems it will be pitched more towards that the killer is known and has been arrested etc etc.

The makers of the podcast are also making a doc. Not sure when that’s out.

It's easily one of the best series I've watched. Haven't seen season 4 yet but heard it's not meant to be as good as the previous ones.

Time with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. 3-parter on BBC set in prison. Very good.

The first few seasons of Gomorrah are brilliant alright. It tails off once the hipster city centre gangsters become involved. Why do hipsters ruin everything

The Netflix documentary on the tragic murder of Sophie Toscan De Plantier in West Cork is pretty poor showing imo.  There will probably be a whole new audience who will see this and think it's a simple story and the main suspect has gotten away with it.  Not one with nuanced in terms of the investigation.  Concentrates on the aspects that suit the narrative and ignores bits that dont..

The Sheridan doc is better but probably loses its way towards the end and has too much Bailey in it.

The podcast west cork is far better than both and is worth listening to.

Fair review here by Mick Clifford.

Yeah I watched the show last night, it definitely is very overly focused on Bailey, but he plays to the camera so much, it's easy to make him the centre of attention. The French angle (angry ex-lover and/or husband who never came to identify the body) or the Gardai rumours are worthy of exploring, but neither make good TV.

I'm 90% sure Bailey did it, but it's mainly because he's an idiot rather than any hard evidence. How he showed up at her house before it was disclosed who was murdered is tough to explain. It's amazing the DPP never brought him to trial. They really do hold a lot of power don't they

He was at the house  2.20 and it was on the news at 2pm that a French ladies body was found in west cork.   He got a call at 1.45 asking him to find out more about the murder.  I think it's totally plausible as it's less thank 3km that he made it over to the house.

It was never even close enough to get past the Dpp.  It would have been ripped to shreds at trial by the defence

What are you talking about? Sure didn't the Gards draw a picture of a hand with little lines through it signifying bramble cuts? What more evidence do you need...

there is an unidentified man that was near the scene of the murder at that time and the guards were too busy asking Marie farell about ian bailey than to really find out who she was out with and who she saw that night.

Bailey garners no sympathy as he is a narcissist but that doesnt make him a murderer or does it make him innocent.

rewatching the sopranos. It’s been about 8 years since I watched.
So good still, lot of stuff you can’t exactly remember which makes it addictive. Just in time too ahead of the prequel that is out in the autumn
