I never saw him as nervous as he was on that panel. Like he thought he'd hit the bigtime of punditry and if he played his cards right he could be a MOTD regular. Then he hit that patchy patch. Big smile

I hope Robbie doesn't understand how social media works, that's the best outcome available given this video he posted.

What do we think of him possibly taking over as assistant at boro? Be good for his development as a coach. Would be a surprise move by the club to appoint woodgate and keane but seems its very possible now.

No great difficulty with it. The only thing is it will require McCarthy to do all the scouting on his own, seeing as Keane won't be available to go and watch league games. Keane will be like the players and only on duty during international breaks. You can't imagine Boro would be too happy otherwise.

One thing I’d always say about Robbie , he loves Ireland and loved playing for us . He comes across very patriotic to me . I’m sure it won’t affect his role with Ireland . He’s only a good influence in or around the camp . I think it will benefit him and us

That's true but a lot of our lads are playing in the Championship so he should have opportunities to check them out when they are preparing against the various teams.

100% its going to affect his role with Ireland. He's not going to be able to go watch any players in action on weekends because he'll be busy with his own team. He said at the start that he was going to do that and help Mick by getting to as many games as possible. He's not going to be able to put in time reviewing opposition matches for upcoming fixtures etc.

All hes gonna be now is a Mick Byrne figure around the team now hugging and tucking players in at night and getting a nice salary for it.

If he takes a salary cut then it would be fair enough. What do we think the chances of that are?

How important is his role in reality though? Terry Conor is Mick's main man. He probably knows a few of the first team squad and Mick put him there for that.

The other R.Keane tried it with Villa and it didn't work out.  I personally think you are committed to the job or not.  I don't like the idea of him taking up Middlesbrough.
