I think in football most clubs have to post a decent first six months to cover the more barren last six months. I very much know that that is how lower league clubs in England do. Season ticket sales and merchandise sales are much higher, most clubs at that level expect to make a loss for the second period and need a good first six months to cover them.
You can kind of see why, with these fag box economics, football clubs get themselves into trouble despite having a reliable customer base!

And why such a nothing story about a former manager of a team that doesn't exist amazes me!

I wonder are rangers/sevco fans as obsessed about the inner workings and economics of Celtic as the likes of Tony is with them? Hating your bitter rivals is fine but

What a day to be posting on this thread. Cannot believe i have posted on it :)

I thought something had actually happened!

The 1690 brigade are far too worried about who is wearing green boots at Ibrox. Anyway, recent history proves economics isn't their strong point!

Another heroic 1-1 win for sevco, though they were at home this time

It should've been 2-1 to Murderwell but the ref decided to disallow it as he wants free dinner tonight in the lodge

After another 0-0 victory away to Kilmarnock, new boss had this to say:

“It’s getting difficult for us.

“We know we need to play twice against Aberdeen and that they have to play against all of the top six again.

“The maths says it can still be done but the next game will be crucial to understand if we’re able or not.
“If we don’t win on Sunday against Aberdeen, we don’t deserve to be in second position.
“That’s my challenge – it’s something we need to prove to ourselves.
“We are Rangers and we want to fight.”
Caixinha named his starting eleven for the drab draw 24 hours before kick-off, with debutants David Bates and Myles Beerman in the line-up – and insisted he’d do it again.
He said: “Sometimes you might be bluffing when you do that but I’m not a bluffing guy.
“Did you think of it from the opposite side? Not from me as Rangers manager but from Lee as Kilmarnock manager?
“Maybe he needs to think more about it. The only change you saw was Sammon on the right and Jones on the left.
“Is that too much? I don’t think so.
“I need to give confidence to my team.

“That was the message for the opponents and for all of Scotland, but it was especially a message for our players to say, ‘I’m counting on you’.
“It doesn’t matter which eleven we have. Let’s go to war.
“Would I do it again? If I need to, I will do it for sure.
“I don’t like to analyse individuals but I can make an exception because it’s the first time the two of them played.
“Both are defenders and we had a clean sheet so at least that means they did their work – especially David, when he lost that first ball because he could’ve lost some confidence in that moment.
“They did what we expected them to do and I’m happy with them.”

He added that he wants his players to be ANGRY when they don’t win games.
He said: “We cannot be happy drawing the game.
“We need to reinforce to the players the demands of playing at such a massive club which needs to win all the time – and we need to be angry when we don’t do it.
“We should be angry that we didn’t – that’s the frustration.”
Meanwhile, Killie boss Lee McCulloch thought his side had snatched it with Sean Longstaff’s last-gasp header which went narrowly wide.
He said: “I thought it was going in. It was the 92nd minute and he’s up challenging, so credit to Sean.
“There was good energy from the boys, the shape worked, the game plan worked and I thought we were the better team in the first-half.
“I changed my gameplan slightly when Rangers named their team beforehand.
“I didn’t change my starting 11 but I used it in part of the team talk.
“I wouldn’t do it, but if a manager wants to do it, he can.”

Massive game for team sevco today away to Aberdeen 1230ko

Anything here less than 3 points and 2nd place is gone for them imo and they will then be in a shootout for 3rd place with St Johnstone

Hopefully Hayes/McGinn/Rooney have their shooting boots on

Strange comment there Tony, given how Aberdeen dominated most of the second half until they were punished in what can be described as 5 minutes of madness.

I've a feeling Caixinha will have far more power in regard to player recruitment than Warburton especially when it comes to lobbing extra £££ on wages/transfer fees.

Aberdeen already losing McGinn in the summer, weakening them significantly!
