It's great to see and hope it happens but 2028 seems a long time for 3 stands to be built and a training complex.
I'm the gaffer whatever I say goes.

If any club can manage it, Sligo will. Never seen a community role in behind a club as much as the people and businesses of Sligo.

Good to see Rovers turning down sponsorship offers from gambling companies.

There's a great thread on Twitter from their AGM in which the Chairman & Treasurer outline the financial situation and future planning.

Just over 30k profit made from LOI TV IIRC.

Might surprise some but there are plenty of Sligo Rovers fans who have no time for Celtic, can't stand them in fact. You'd think given the Celtic founder was from a village just 20 minutes from the Showgrounds that there might be a decent relationship but it isn't there.
They have reneged on agreements and shown no desire to build a connection with the football community in Sligo or with Rovers. Fair enough they are a business after all but they are great for playing their Irish history card and even using Sligo when it suits them. Has left a bad taste in the mouth.

you clearly not connected with soccer in Sligo. Massive Celtic following, most people second team. Take it from someone who played junior soccer for years & follow SRFC. I could call out infinite pubs that will support Celtic. What is your comment based on?? Also no clue what you are talking about regarding a relationship with both clubs which you seem to belittle yourself anyway?? Seems a spiteful comment tbh.

solid start from rovers this season. There are defo squad limitations but the centre half from NZ and Keena up front look class acts. Bench looks v light, Bolger key to midfield so hopefully can stay fit. Two lads who came on u front Keogh & Mata (sic) looked really poor, gave us nothing. Need few more players in & can target top 4…

Give Keogh and Mata a chance before writing them off. Both came on in the 87th minute in the Derry match, so they only played a few minutes. Mata came on in the 88th of the Pats match so you can't tell much from that really either. Plus Mata is only in the door and doesn't have a preseason worth of fitness behind him so it is going to take him a few weeks to get up to speed.
I think Keogh will come of age this season, I thought he looked good during preseason in his busy number 10/attacking midfielder role. He will probably be a sub/impact player for now but will get his chance during the season.

Pijnaker played well the two matches, himself and Buckley look like a good partnership. Keena played very well against Pats, he was a bit quieter in Derry but he still worked very hard up top on his own.

I can see McGinty being Sligo Rovers player of the season already.

Never said there wasnt a big Celtic flowing in Sligo, but there are Rovers fans who have grown to dislike Celtic over the years.
Did u consider that maybe I know more than Im posting or know even more in the Rovers background than you might have heard. Im not going to get into it on a public forum but its justified imo.

There was 2600 plus at the Shels match and 2200 plus at the Bohs match in total. Both matches had about 200-300 away fans.
If the matches were on a Saturday there probably would be more.
Before the Bohs match was postponed they had the away section sold out.
