This. Its been apparent for 2 years hidden by the great form of Sterling weighing in with goals.

Big season for Jesus, as it is for a few others who seem to be in a bit of a comfort zone....Mahrez, Bernardo, Mendy.....Would like to see more of Cancelo this season.

They do need a striker. That meniscus injury in Aguero's knee is a bad one, Mendy had the same and it kept recurring. He's also getting no younger and Jesus isn't good enough to carry that role on his own

An ideal summer would have seen City sign Koulibaly a few months ago and then a striker and left back, I know that's being greedy though. They've done nothing in the transfer market since the Torres signing at the start of August

First half brilliant, second half not so good and were lucky to only concede one
Solid debut from Ake

good start against what has been a difficult opponent.big difference was ferindino play in midfield....made city look more solid, moved things along, covered well and offered KDB more freedom.if that’s city with just two weeks training and no pre season games hopefully it’s a good sign when they get up to speed.

Yep, Dinho in midfield is better than Gundogan for me despite being 35
More dynamic, slicker passing and looks quicker over the ground

City at times in the first half was as close as perfection as you will likely see, absolute total dominance and a joy to watch.

On the second half, it's still very obvious as to why City fail at the very highest level in Europe and why they will probably fall short in England again this season and its their defence.

Wolves will be kicking themselves how didn't score at least 3 goals tonight, in saying that I still reckon City were full value for the win mind.

I’d agree GD

Strange that one where Podence left it for Neves who was ten yards behind him outside the box instead of smashing it in himself

For sure, I couldn't believe he didn't strike it.

Gabriel Jesus looks very sharp, whilst he'll never be as clinical as Aguero he's definitely able to play that lone well and could easily hit 20 goals in all comps this year which wouldn't be a bad return.

I'd still like to see City add another striker mind, even some 32/33 year just to accept a back up role.

I’ve been saying it for a Long time that a striker was needed...more than a center half i thought.....I’d love to see Giroud (or that type of striker) at the club, just a plan B striker to mix things up but experienced.

Pep made that mistake when he signed Zlatan at Barca.

Be surprised if he did it again.

City were excellent in the first half.

They ran out of energy in the 2nd half and the bench looked very light. The fact they only made one sub was telling.

City need to add strength to compete on all fronts.
Or accept their limitations and prioritise the league and champ league.

Exactly.
Not Pep’s type of player.

Klopp the same as witnessed by how he discarded Sahko.

Hey when it comes to having a "type" (or not) no-one comes close to Jose M.

Here is a team of players he inherited but couldn't wait to get rid of:

GK: Petr Cech

RB: Glen Johnson
CB: Willam Gallas
CB: Leonardo Bonnucci
LB: Ashley Cole

RM: Arjen Robben
CM: Kevin De Bruyne
CM:Patrick Vieira
LM: Memphis Depay

CF: Romelu Lukaku
CF: Zlatan

And I reckon Dele Alli will be the next one pushing for a place in the team.

Jesus is out injured now, estimated to be out for a month.

You would think Delap will see some game time in the league now. Sterling to play up front on Sunday i'd say
He's a big lad Delap, offers something different to what is already there

Getting torn apart by Leicester.

At least 2 new defenders needed.
