The difference maker here is Guardiola. Mancini and Pellegrini couldn't achieve anywhere near this level. Here's a man who won 100 points in the league a few seasons ago with Fabian Delph as his left back! How's his career gone since?
Once he leaves City will come back to the pack and everybody can go back to not caring about City again, apparently.

In a few years, Newcastle will be the dominant team assuming the Saudis stick around. It’ll prob take 5 years or so but they will get there

Much of city’s work was puti in place before financial fair play, allowing city to raise a huge platform before the drawbridge was raised.Newcastle Saudi Arabian owners won’t be able to attempt anything like the same project.

City have only won back to back league titles once and never done it three years running (should change this year) but yea best team ever LOL

The best teams when league titles consistently and to do that alongside winning a European cup can’t be taken lightly! City haven’t got close to that level.

Liverpool don't have the financial backing of an oil state so that's the big difference in terms of being able to compete - It's pretty straightforward.

Your not telling it how it is.  Your just giving your opinion and making snidey comments which are utterly pathetic.

Flag them up there and give your counter argument sure. That's how football forums work.

Anyone can see the media bias against City. I don't recall this type of reporting ever before when a team takes a big lead in the league.
They haven't even dominated to the level of other sides in the 80s or 90s yet, imagine the crying then.

They haven't been good enough this season Liverpool, is the truth. Can make all the excuses they like but 13 wins out of 21 games is nothing to do with City.

Second Captains covered this topic the other day. The City project leaves people feeling a bit cold. A Petro state uses their bottomless resources to acquire the best coach in the world and stockpile top talent. There is no unpredictability about their success. They havent overcome any adversity. Fair play to the executives for having a clear vision and also to Pep for having ability to carry it out.
Non Manchester based City fans must love it but I wonder what the old Maine road going supporters must really make of it all. Makes me think of what pub I'd prefer to drink in; The shiny gleaming new steel and glass place in a financial district or the weathered old traditional one in the city centre. That last part doesnt just apply to City by the way.

Second Captains, enough said. Did you read the sh*te their regular contributor Ken Early wrote yesterday on the City Chelsea game? Not sure where you'd start with that gibberish.

They haven't really got a stockpile of top talent, contrary to this overly used theory. They've 5 less senior players in their squad than both Chelsea and Liverpool. Did you see Chelsea's bench on Saturday compared to Citys?
Why aren't Chelsea running away with things?
Man United have the highest wage bill and their squad cost the most to assemble in world football. Why are they 7th?

As i said yesterday, the difference maker is Pep Guardiola. Not sure why people are so afraid to praise him or admit this. Ever since he's been in England media/critics/fans of other clubs have made a claim, he's proven them wrong and then they've moved the goalposts with a but but but, he hasn't done this.
We're seeing it at the minute, the same people who wrote City off early last season and wrote articles on if they really are all that are now saying its boring how good they are, and they "leave you cold" Confused

I've no doubt that if he ever wins the CL at City the same will apply, goalposts move and no praise given.

The funny thing is City haven't even played that well in weeks.

I love Pep. Huge fan. He's already one of the greatest managers in history as far as I'm concerned. Is that enough praise?
I literally said that its his execution of a good plan (plus massive financial spend) that has brought the success.
You honestly can't argue the stockpile of talent point. They signed £100m Grealish this season. Is he the missing piece of the puzzle? No, he is another enormously talented creative midfield player to go with all their others. If Pep wants another full back then it's no problem, lets watch him drop £50m or £60m.
I like watching attractive football so I can enjoy watching City but there's no massive credit due to them. We are watching the end result of a huge spend over a long number of years. Maybe Newcastle will push them in a few years if they are allowed spend in a similar capacity.

I think thats eased in the last few years tbh.
Several targets weren't got due to not going over the price City thought they were worth.
Kane, Jorginho, Maguire (thank f**k)
They would hardly be playing with no specialist left back or striker in the squad if it were the case.

I don't see the football media bias, maybe I am not paying enough attention since my interest is waning (for a whole host of reasons).
But your comments about 'red tinted media' and 'mentality monsters'. Seriously like.

Jim Beglin on commentary on Saturday referred to it as the Emptihad  FFS.
What more of a red tinted media bias do you want?

Don't get upset over the Mentality Monsters comment. Thats a term Liverpool coined for themselves.

Works both ways RB! Could you imagine the media attention if a United or Liverpool player was arrested for allegedly multiple rapes.
