For an amazing team and manager, it's tainted love with the owners.

It's like all those people who got married and had Michael Jackson music playing as they walked up the aisle, a great day with a sour note.

Miguel Delaney’s piece in The Independent sums it up well.

Needs to take a day off that lad. Has been cryarsing all week about City winning the league, peaked yesterday after a superb performance in the cup final
A (phenomenal) team has won a treble.
Boo hoo, it’s happened regularly in other countries over the years and hasn't spelled the end of football

The over reaction and bitterness to City’s success is remarkable

They got less abuse last season when winning the league by 20 points. Pipping Liverpool by a point has really hurt some.

I’m not his biggest fan, but he is consistent and right. The facts can’t be changed.
It isn’t Manchester City that are the problem, but their owners and why they own them. I couldn’t give a f**k who they beat, I still find it disgusting.

But Liverpool will still be favs yeah?
Of course they will - it's 'our year', isn't it? LOL

Thought Jesus should have won Man of the match yesterday
Bit of a joke giving it to De Bruyne when he only came on in the 55th minute

Liverpool have had a few brilliant transfer windows recently and spent a lot. They will have to do the same over the next few years just to keep up with City.

They have unlimited finances and can afford to fund two top teams. Add to that they have moved the Barcelona technical team over to Manchester, they will be the team to beat for years.

They will be the first team to win 4 premier/first division in a row.

If Liverpool win the Champions League I wouldn't say too many of them will be fussed about not winning the league on the grander scheme of things.

Neither would I tbh. The least that Liverpool deserve is at least one major trophy whether it's the premier league or champions' league. Even banking 97 points in the EPL is some achievement in itself.

Not sure lads trying to expose the owners complicity and involvement in war crimes, enslaving people, brutally surppressing dissent and the starvation of thousands is bitterness to be honest.

But sure they won the treble and played good football so that's all okay.
