A little Heads up fellas. The Ryanair Wroclaw- Dublin flight on 19th June at 07.30 is still quite cheap (357PLN including taxes..... thats about 85 euro)
You can get a 2am train from Poznan to Wroclaw arriving at 5am for about 15 euro. Plenty of time to catch the flight. So 100 euros will get you home !! Thats what Im doing.

Just booked flights. 16-21st Dublin - Stanstead - Poznan and the same on the way back. €189 altogether! Now to find a place to stay and tickets! Accomodation on alot of hostel sites is crazy expensive! Delighted its set in stone now!

If its just for the Italy match these were the prices I found yesterday - Can't believe I'm saying this but only €59 with Ryanair to fly into Poznan on the day of the match and its a morning flight but not at stupid o'clock. Polskibus after Italian match €15 and then Ryanair again flight either Tuesday morning at 9.35(€31) is tight with the polskibus timetable or 21.55 direct to Dublin from Berlin for €39. One return trip with direct flights in and out of Dublin for €100 plus €15 bus and no accommodation required. Edited by Midlands - 05 May 2012 at 4:48pm |

Decided today too that I'm going to go too, no tickets but someone said they'd give me an email if they have spares for the Italy. Would it be best to fly to Berlin at this stage and get the train to Poznan? Anyone got any tips for accom or transport? |

Go for it. Most are sturggling financially because of it but it's the hit we have to make to be there. You will only regret it if you don't go.
Also don't worry about travelling alone. I did it to a couple of the games this campaign. You are never alone

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN !!!!!!! Just go mate. You simply cant buy the memories that these trips give. If you cant afford it then BORROW. All up, a trip will cost 1200-1500. In a year or 2 when you are a bit more flush and pissing your money away on a package deal in Benidorm you'll regret not going. Believe me, I've really pushed the boat out for this trip, dragging the wife and 10 week old baby back to europe from Sydney. I know I wont regret it. It just means it will take me a few months more to pay the mortgage off

Obviously on a fans forum, people are going to be enthusiastic but if you can figure it out, go... honestly, you'll have memories for a lifetime. Having been to tournaments in the past (but only one with Irl), it is worth it. Took a loan out during college to pay for Japan/Korea - best thing I ever did. I know things are tough right now in Irl but it won't be like that forever. Memories will be.
I think I just shed a tear (!!) but honestly, football fans are united on this one - there is nothing like being at a tournament especially when you're Irish and we're not at a tournament every 2 years.

If you think you can afford to pay it off over the summer you should go, though you should prob go anyway! We are paying between 30 to 40 a night for accomodation. Email hotels or hostels directly and you will find better deals. Drink will be cheap as will transport within poland. Flights and ticket are your biggest setback. When the portal opens try and get on it as often as you can, would be hard with exams but worth it. might save you added expense trying to buy from a tout in poland. |
