surely woth its own thread rather than clogging up mccleans. According to all the articles trap said gibson mccarthy and coleman were all 90 to 99 percenters to go to the euros aswell?By that logic I wouldnt guarantee McLeans going Could these 4 be the back up players on standby???? I RECKON ITS FAHEY ANYWAY THOUGH ISNT DUFFS CHILD SICK?

High profile means one of the starting XI. Not good news if it turns up to be true

Why did they have to say anything at all without revealing the name?
They should’ve just said who it was a couple of days ago, rather than let the rumours fly about! Cant be good for anyone!
(never heard that about duffs child but is it really something that should be posted up on a football forum?)

It may well be, but I certainly didn’t know about it!
But this is the sh*te trap and Delaney are gona cause – people speculating on who it is, the personal reason for it,etc. I’m sure there’ll be pleanty of rumours and theories floating about until it is revealed!
They should have said nothing at all until they were in a position to name the player

Where does it say its a high profile player? Just an established player from the squad. Given and Dunne are as established as Fahey and Hunt...
But agree, Trap shouldnt have said anything if he wasnt going to name him.

Heartbreaking for whoever does have to pull out. It clearly is due to some personal reason (i.e. misfortune, illness, tragedy) rather than a falling out with management team. It must be something like a family/child illness that the player is sure this far away from the tournament that they will not be available.

Just googled duff to see if there was any info on whether it was him who has to withdraw. Couldn't find anything, though there is a lot of stuff in bad taste saying he has a form of Down's Syndrome.
Not cool.

duff was over here last week promoting for the euro's surely if he has family issues causing him not to be able to go to Poland he wouldn't be doing that.
A good chance something is being lost in translation, or someone just has to have an operation

Not a wind-up, Trap has said somebody is likely to be unable to make it and it will be confirmed in next 7 days. That's what he said, could be something lost in translation but he inferred this was the reason for the 90-99% chance for McClean.....
