Maitland-Niles has spent the last few seasons saying he should be playing as a CM rather than a full-back. I'd be surprised if he signs for a team who won't play him in CM.

Speculation that Spurs may sell him today.  Pity it hasn't worked out for him.

he’d be in a decent salary so who’d come in for him will be interesting- if it’s a Prem club and he’ll be playing regularly then it’s a good move from ROI perspective. From his €€ perspective nothing changes really - he’s on the premier league gravy train. From his professional achievement / romance of football yeah it hasnt worked out.

Must be a bit of a pox being in such a situation when you're on international duty.

Far more speculation that Aurier is going, hardly gonna sell both.

There's about 40 pages of "Doherty can't play on the left" and 'Doherty and Coleman can't play in the same team' on here.

Think both played very well today.

His best performance in an Ireland Jersey by a distance and the best performance we've had by a left back in a seriously long time too.

Considering he has played poorly in a lot of games under Kenny, to play like that as left wing back as well, was great.
It would damage this forums' reputation

Top class performance from him today.

His only fault is that hes very one footed and had to keep turning to get it onto his right for crosses or cutting it inside instead of just playing it in on his left.

Considering he's often been criticised for his defensive ability, I thought he was brilliant defensively. Got back into good positions numerous times, making important clearances.

I thought he was absolutely brilliant. He has such a not arsed, languid style about him. All a bit mad really.

I think it's because he doesn't move his arms much when he's running, so it always looks like he's not putting the effort in.

100% for me.
Looked our best player every time he got the ball bar when he ran out of legs in the 2nd half.
Kenny says he was feeling unwell.
