As said already, plenty of very highly rated promising players on that list who ended up having at best, fairly average careers.

It's a grey area, he was with Ireland at the time, but he changed his international allegiance to Scotland in 2010
Comes down to personal preference if it counts or not

Emerson Royal with another horror show in attack and defence for Spurs tonight. I feel sorry for Doherty, he's already shown last season that he's miles better, and now he's going to have to do it all over again (if he even gets the chance...).
We're decent enough..

I only watched the last five minutes but in that time Royal was beaten in the air for one Sporting goal and then nutmegged two minutes later for another one. You'd like to think Doherty might get a run now but maybe Conte just doesn't rate him.

Where with Spence Conte has made it quite clear it wasn't his signing with Doherty he's never said anything of the like just "fitness". He's not exactly making an effort to get him fit is he! Very strange Conte has done it now a few times where he's not used his bench!

Absolutely ridiculous he didn't give Doherty or Spence a run off the bench for 20 minutes more of an attacking threat down that side. Kulusevski and Doherty combined so well last year down the right it can't be helping Kulusevski either. Not Emerson's fault he's just not a natural wing back by nature.

Maybe his injury has had an impact and he's not at the same level. Conte seems to make very few substitutions in games for some reason. Even though he was complaining about a very hectic fixture schedule.
It would damage this forums' reputation

It's good they're not rushing him if he's not fully ready. We see with Idah how tricky a knee injury can be to recover from.

It's also positive that Conte seems to think Doherty should be fine for the Ireland games, so he's not that far off full fitness. Hopefully we can get 60-70mins out of him in both games.
