No he didnt. As one of his biggest fans previously, he looks very much like he needs to play at wing back rather than full back.

He looked a different animal last week at Wing Back. It was working fine I don’t know why Mourinho switched formation after 60 odd minutes against Wolves.

Reguilon isn’t much better defensively and also looked way more comfortable as a wing back against Wolves.

With Doherty and Aurier it’s genuinely like Floyd and Harry in Dumb and Dumber at the moment it’s a case of when not if who messes up next.

Playing today against Marine after serving his one game suspension for the red card.

Based on prior form that would indicate Aurier is back in for the next game v Villa.

A 2nd string including Ben Davies, Doherty, Alderweireld, Sissoko, Alli, and Moura. And Gareth Bale about to come on.

Not exactly Leeds 2nd string we're talking about here.

No, the point I was making is that Doherty being picked in this team suggests he's back behind Aurier for now.

Is that Doherty's 1st assist for Spurs? He is definitely better suited as a wing back

I think the point was made already but given that Spurs are still involved in 3 cups and will probably fancy their chances of a long run in the Europa League (with it's huge volume of games) it's no real major worry if Doherty doesn't play week in week out in the league if he's seen as the starting right back in the cup competitions.

He will still easily manage another 5 league starts at the very least on top of that I'd imagine.

Aurier didn't cover himself in glory for the Fulham equaliser.

Was it not Davison Sanchez that Lookman went past?

Not in the side or squad today and they playing a back 5. I can only presume hes injured.

Why in gods name would you not play Doherty in a back 5? He played there once for Spurs against Wolves they were winning 1-0 he changed the formation after 60 minutes and I’d argue that change cost them the game.

Of course he did 😂😂😂

Aurier will have a nightmare again soon no fear of that but agreed Doherty should look to kick on in the next year or two speed is everything in life and he’s sent a bit of a message today playing a back 5 and not putting him in.

Doherty messed up big time getting sent off against Leeds so he can only blame himself for that.
