And Coleman just went off injured in the United match.

Be grand though, I'm sure Coleman will play with crutches.

I don’t think he suits a back four and I can’t see Mick switching to 3-5-2 for this. Even if he does he will probably go with Shane Duffy on the right and Hendrick on the left.

He's scoring goals, assisting goals and his all round performance in games has been impressive in one of the toughest leagues in the world.

It just doesnt fit into what ireland are trying to do here, it would mean our strategy needs to change.

Whatever about your motivation for a player to be selected ahead of another but to be glad of an injury to a player like Coleman is pathetic.

Of course he can play in a back four, he just needs instructions to play a little more conservative going forward.

You would have to say doherty is amoung the best players in the PL over the last year or more even. Its a sad state that hes almost an after thought with Mick.

He can but why not play him in a system that best suits him. You have himself and stevens performing bigtime in the PL. Play them as wingbacks.

Not every player can play both. I might be wrong, but I can’t see him being anywhere near as good at right-back for Ireland.

He only has to be better than what we have already, Coleman has been more suspect of late.

Coleman out for the playoffs (if they go ahead) according to Tony O'Donoghue on Six One just now.

I have a feeling that it could lead to a whole set of new ones though.
