If we could stick another centre half in midfield and then maybe throw another pair of them up front we’d be ever-closer to the fabled ‘Team of Gary Breens’

Whoever is playing RB is gonna have Ogbene back there helping them out to double up on Mbappe. We're probably gonna have none of the ball and defending most of the night so should be a defender back their rather than moving a midfielder out of position.
Stick O'Shea RB as he's played there for West Brom and have your three CBs of Collins, Duffy, and Egan. |

Given the opposition it would make sense to shift a centre back over there for extra defensive cover and it also provides an opportunity to call up an extra centre back or two into the squad. McNally and McGuinness both fit and available for selection to cover centre back if someone like O'Shea switches across so this could be an opportunity for Kenny as much as anything - possibly no harm to hold Doherty back for the Dutch game anyway.

Tough task marking Mbappe, not sure Browne has the pace and we may need Knight in midfield. O'Shea or maybe Omobamidele?

Yup, got an extra game from UEFA, which you'd imagine was for trying to get onto the pitch to talk to the ref after the game.
Back for the dutch game

Seems as good a solution as any. I'd prefer that to debuting Festy at RWB or playing Browne/Sykes oop. Although, I was hoping he might bring in Duffy for Egan (on cusp of suspension). Maybe a chance for Omobamidele to come in as well.

At least he still has plenty of years left in international football to rack up some caps

If Doherty is still suspended, I'd play O'Shea at RB in a back five.
That could mean that Duffy starts at CB.

You can see the goals on Livescore, he made a great run for his first goal. Was he moved to wing back when he got his two goals?

It would damage this forums' reputation
