Dont know if theres a thread on this put down any ive missed.

Andy Keogh- Andy Keeeeeoooooo

Darren O Dea - Darren O Day (Heard this one recently)

Tim Cahill- Tim Caayhill (maybe cahill pronounces it like that himself)

Steve McMahon- Steve McMaan (The dont pronounce the h)


This isnt football related but why do the english pronunce the g in gallagher.its silent in ireland.well it is in mayo.

Thats a good one.im not sure how thats pronounced in the north.id say its prounounced mclean with the a silent.id forgive them for that one cos i dont know it myself

very funny.obviously i meant the 2nd g.i assume the 2nd g isnt pronounced at all in ireland

It seems to be accepted in dublin pubs now that Tim or Gary Cahill are pronounced KHILL

the thing is cahill and the oz commentators probably pronounce it that way even though its an irish name and originally pronounced our way

That's the thing, Tim Cahill pronounces his name that way. Ronnie Moran used to pronounce his MorANN, Liam and Noel pronounce the second g in Gallagher. So if people pronounce their own name that way, what do you do? Tell them they're doing it wrong?
