Rory for Ireland! Them throw - ins yesterday were something else, if i remember correctly back in his derby county days was a descent goalscorer too and can play full back or midfield, would he not be worth a place in the 22? Considering his teammate glenn whelan is and he cant get a starting place with delaps club.

fookin hell he was sticking in some throws yesterday. very route 1 are stoke and maybe thats why whelan isnt getting in. Thought lawrence was quiet yesterday, has played much better this season.  defo think both of them should be in the squad in fairness as both playing week in week out for premiership clubs!

That lad can throw the ball further than I can kick it. Was watching match of the day 2 last night, what was it, 35 metres or something?! What age is he now? Trappa loves the set pieces and that is some weapon to have.

Jack Charlton would of loved Delap. Yeah i think he is worth a shot in the squad. Dont care what he plays like just throw the damn ball and stay out of the way.  Premier league teams know what to expect when playing stoke but could you imagine what the Italians or the bulgarians would think if he just started bombing the ball into the box. I think he could be a secret weapon. if only we had a target man.

I hate to say it but I was always a fan of Rory Delap's. He never got a decent run in the side and looks like a dopey f**k but he was a very versatile player. Under Mick he was competiting with Killer for the left wing spot and then Duff but never was in with a shout. He's 32 now so unlikely to figure in Trappa's plans but if Duff is out for a long time he could be used as a stop gap.

Not one to be looking at lads coming into the squad after such a long time out and at the tail end of their careers but JAYSUS i just seen his throw for Stoke's winner last night...

If i was Trap id be begging him to join up. Defo worth last 15-20mins if we are behind or in a difficult situ.

Pity they can't do what they do in American football, just bring him on for the throws, unbelievable trejectory and flatness he gets on the throws, don't mind better than a Hunt cross, it's better than a fookin Beckham cross!

As Ive said before on this. Are we going to try win throws instead of trying to score?

His all round play is terrible.Wasnt good enough in his "prime" and thoroughly does not deserve an international call up

That throw for the goal this week was unbelievably accurate and had as much pace on the ball as a normal cross would have had, said it before think a place in the squad and be on the bench if needed is a good option.

Could also be good for a place in one of those stupid fantastic four type films how the fcuk can he do that.

Agree that his throw would be as good as a cross from Beckham, would say the brain would be similar as well.Big%20smile

i think he deserves his chance. Has everyone talking in the prem. We haven't got many others doing that at the moment. Also he has played at RB before. Could be an option to play there when Finnan is out.
