That was absolute rubbish yesterday. The Dutch weren't even good. Any half decent fielding performance would have won it.

The aim now is to come in the top 7. Same as at the beginning. If we got a boundary off the last ball in the first game, then the series would be much better.

We now have South Africa and Zimbabwe series coming up at home. The table may be clearer after that.

Very comfortable in the end, great to see after the last few series.

That's England and SA beat in this tournament now, out of the big guns.

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

As shown when they went to the WC 2 years ago, South Africa have struggled to deal with conditions in this part of the world, so when they lost the second qualifier here for the next WC, it wasn't really a major surprise.  They adjusted to the conditions for the last game and won easily, aided by poor batting from us, and poor calls by the captain. What captain thinks a bowler should come in when the first wicket has been taken? Balbirnie does. Understandably he didn't bat very long.

By the time Simi Singh arrived, it was an exercise in damage limitation, and the loss wasn't as heavy as feared when he came in, which helped the net run rate. But the 15 points taken means 5th place in the table, and a great chance to qualify automatically for the WC, after all the other games are played.
