They are lucky they were playing probably the worst team left in the competition.

They weren't at their best last night that's for sure but could put in the same performance in on another night and win by 3 or 4. Hit the post twice and Copenhagen keeper was like a man possessed with some of the saves he made

Definitely need to up performance for the semi final but think it be a totally different game as neither wolves or Seville will sit back and defend like Copenhagen did last night both will come wanting to attack United and that's the type of game they have performed best in since the restart when they can play fast counterattack football

* Should also be noted the last time United won the Europa league they struggled in a quarter final against anderlacht only winning the game after extra time. The result is the most important thing at the end of the day time to focus on the next game
the closest i will ever come to playing for ireland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0_7w4JyvI4

I didnt think they were that bad. Created some good chances, poor finishing granted. Copenhagen keeper was superb.
I think they underestimated Copenhagen if anything, a good solid side
It was over 30 degrees and that also definitely affected the game. Would have to fancy Sevilla tonight if the heat on their side

United desperately need Sancho! Greenwood, Martial and Rashford need some proper competition as they won't get it from James, Mata and Lingard.

Agree and Disagree
Definitely need to improve the quality of back up, throughout the squad just not in attack
Sancho would be a great addition, but if the funds needed for him could be used to get 3 or 4 quality squad players in I'd prefer that option

So you would be happy for Dan James to come off the bench if United are chasing a game?

James isnt good enough no, and would like to see him go on loan next year

And GD, not in England but great value on the continent

Hakimi went to Inter for €40m
Tonali is in talks with Milan who offered €25m but Brescia want €32m
Konate is around €40m and the guy from Marseille is valued around €35m

A little over €100m but there's definite value out there

Thought they were the better team but two awful defensive mistakes have cost them
Again the lack of depth of the squad shows

True, very little quality outside of the first 11, but I think last night was also the final straw for Lindelof. A decent technical footballer but simply not up to it at this level.

Disappointing to fall at the semi final stage yet again. A good summer is required in the market to add depth and quality options. Klopp and Pep are several years ahead and Chelsea are doing their best to close that gap as much as possible in a summer.
No thank you Turkish......I'm sweet enough

The worrying thing about this is I thought he was better than Maguire. Looked headless at times, and I do recognise the irony of that

Completely agree about Pep and Klopp, and realistically I dont think OGS will ever be to their level

Jokes circulating on social media last night that OGS's wife has walked out on him - she's sick of him being unable to get past a semi...LOL

With all due respect that calibre of player isn't going to join Man United or any other big club and not want assurances about being a first team regular.

I would also argue that United aren't in a position to splash €100m on players who aren't going to slot straight into the starting line up and help bridge the gap to Liverpool/City.

United need to buy less quantity and more quality as of now, they're not going to turn into Title challengers otherwise.

@ChesterCoppertpot,

I do agree re that there is better value on the continent, the quotes for bang average UK based players would baffle.

Completely agree 80 million for Maguire, the same for Grealish and 50mil for Callum Wilson is crazy

In my head, the players mentioned should jump at the chance to sign for United, but when I take off my biased hat, you're probably right in saying that United just arent as attractive a club as they used to be/should be

And the other thing, the players mentioned would probably all be in the starting line up
