The recent players city have missed out on - Sanchez, Fred and Jorginho all seem like bullets dodged

Forgot about Fred, has he even made the bench at Utd this season?

Didn't join up for a while in preseason so he has been playing in behind closed doors games to get up to fitness.

Loan deal for Sanchez costing United 6million. Ridiculous
Fred linked with a move to Fiorentina yesterday but don't see it happening

City and Liverpool are buying players and making them great/world class. Utd buying world class/great players and making them sh*te. Seems like a really soul zapping atmosphere from the outside. Burdened by trying to get back to Fergie’s Utd that everyone loved, rather than trying to create a new utd with new philosophy

Still think they need a revolutionary manager to come in like Pep or Klopp who have their own unique philosophy .

I’d fancy Rodgers to do a better job than Ole is ever going to do at Utd!

United are an absolute joke of a club at the moment and I can't see that changing while the Glazers and Woodward are still running things.

How can United let Sanchez go out on loan and paying half his wages benefit the club on a sporting basis? when they have players like Lingard and Dan James who are likely to start every week.

You would be mad to waste your money on them.

Sanchez will go down as their worst signing ever imo. It's hard to think of a player rated so highly at any club, with huge expectations on him, then turn up and look like a washed up has been.

It was only a few weeks ago that Solskjaer was saying Sanchez is quality and expects him to score a lot of goals at United yet. Maybe he'll still come good LOL
"I called him an embarrassment to FIFA and to himself," .... He said 'No-one speaks to me like that'.... and I said, "well I do' and that was that."

Smalling gone out on loan to Roma it seems. In fairness to Solskjaer, he's done as good a job of a clearout as he can in one window, for this season at the very least. Matic, Jones, Young phased out of the first team, Lukaku, Sanchez, Smalling, Fellaini, Valencia all shown the door temporarily or permanently - not the current manager's fault it's proved impossible to shift Sanchez on those wages.

Team will be up and down all season and more results like the weekend are a near certainty, but at least there's an honest attempt to make a change there. The team is very young, and will be vibrant and callow in equal measure.

Would have preferred to keep Smalling ahead of Jones and Rojo but assume once Bailly is fit, Smalling would be fifth choice centre half

Surprisingly, not having a midfield makes you struggle in football matches. United are a mid-table side until the midfield is sorted out.

Dan James looks a good signing.

Ole has to take a lot of stick for that today, Mata is a pointless footballer these day, Pereira is terrible out wide, the double substitution of Lingard and Matic was the worst double substitution I have ever seen! Greenwood brought on far too late. The only plus was AWB.

Hopefully Pochettino becomes available at some stage this season then again I wouldn’t have confidence in the board or the Glazers in actually making the right decision on footballing matters.

Long season ahead for United and thank f**k we now have an International break.

Not trying to be smart but why would Pochettino want to move to United?

A bigger influence on transfer policy, a bigger transfer budget and a bigger salary maybe ? Other than that, can't think of anything.

Would be career suicide for someone like Pochetino to go to United now.

That couple of minutes in the first half where Pogba kept giving the ball away was the highlight of the weekend LOL he was like a lad invited to play after winning a raffle.
