far too much black and white and binary proportions being put up here.

What she did to her bf was horrendous and thr full legal process would have been played out and hopefully she would have been treated like any person alleged to be domestically abusing their partner.  She clearly needed help along with her victim as much to protect her bf and and any other potential victims.

However there is an element in the tabloids and general public often on social media that see things in black and white and its either good or bad and there is no nuance or room for forgiveness and recovery.

The family and management statement says it all - They're pointing their fingers at the Crown Prosecution Service.

The CPS are highly advised not to proceed against mentally vulnerable people but to use other alternatives IE. A mental hospital.

But in this case the CPS thought they had all of their bases covered and found her to be in the public interest to bring proceedings despite being a well known TV host.

In this scenario for her own wellbeing a mandatory stay in a mental hospital would of been the best outcome, therefore there'd be no proceedings and she'd be able to focus on her health so how the media are to blame is beyond me, the CPS have let her down mostly.

Piers Morgan had a lovely message of sympathy and condolence for Caroline Flack on Twitter there. As pressed "send" on it, he was simultaneously trying to hack her phone.

He wasn't pressing charges. The police were going after her.

No because it was the crown taking it.  Only in a civil case.  He had given his statements

Nope. Even for Common Assault, like a slap in the street doesn’t require the victim to be involved for proceedings to take place, all they need is proof it happened which they had - The lamp and the blood

If you can’t see the role the media and social media played in this I genuinely worry for you.

Not for a second saying they weren't to blame. Just asking the question because I genuinely didn't know the situation with the fella.

So many kids want to be famous these days. You only have to look at the number of reality TV shows on at the moment. They see fame as some kind of pathway to wealth and happiness. The media have played a massive role in this, but the sh*tty reality TV production companies have too.

This tragic and extremely sad outcome is almost an unavoidable conclusion of reality tv. We’re far gone from the “social experiment” of Big Brother 1, twenty years ago, when winning the £70k was the goal. Within a few years the assumption was winning was not relevant as you could ultimately make significantly greater money and ensure longer lasting fame, with your reality show debut as the launchpad.

The CPS perform a major public service and make their decisions based on the public interest. There are elements of the media that are not even purveyors of news, but are entertainment outlets, masking as information media. Caroline Flack was due to stand trial, and the media had no right or authority to put her in the metaphorical stocks, only for them to now try and sell their newspapers venerating her, when they led the lynch mob.

RIP.

Well for starters it was every newspaper, and secondly, she battered her own boyfriend.. The outrage was acceptable.

What if it was vice versa, that the male battered the female, is it only okay for the media to attack the culprit then?

For the culprit to go on and commit suicide isn't okay but she was clearly in a very psychotic state of mind since December so I just don't get people blaming the media on this one.

Men are physically stronger than women, so the equivalence you're attempting to draw is entirely false. In this case the contrast was particularly stark - Flack was 5'2 and small-framed, the alleged 'victim' is a muscular 6'4 professional athlete. The very fact that the CPS were quite so zealous in their determination to make an example of Flack, despite her evident fragile mental state and her boyfriend not wishing the case to proceed, should probably suggest to you that women aren't nearly so advantaged in this society as you like to make out.

And there is no evidence of her being psychotic. Rather it appears she was being treated for depression.

I bet anything most of the same people who lapped up the tabloid coverage of this poor lady (who I'd never heard of, I must admit) and then turned on the tabloids when they found out she'd taken her own life, will still be only too happy to lap up what those same tabloids tell them about politics, that the Tories and Brexit are great and Corbyn and Labour and immigrants and "lefties" and the EU are evil.

And they will see no contradiction at all.

It's funny how it is now being widely reported that The Sun have taken down previous articles about Caroline Flack, but it wasn't widely reported, or reported at all, that The Sun's political editor deleted his own splash story which relied on far right anti-Semitic propaganda to smear Labour before the election.

Be interesting actually to see what the reaction would be if the showbiz editor of the Sun or the Daily Mail took their own life over this. There would have to be another 180 in public reaction. "Why, oh why did we vilify the Sun over Caroline Flack's suicide! They were just doing their job! Now look what we've done!"

Ah, modern media. The f**king insanity of it all.
