I'm not one to be pedantic, but is he really a celebrity? I know we will live in a world where people become celebrities without any talent or reason to be celebrated, but celebrity crime boss, murderer and informer is probably a bit much.

Being a celebrity isn't solely being well known, traditionally it was about being celebrated for something. I know in the days of reality television politicians, Kardashians and the like that this has died out, but mentioning him in the same thread as presenters of beloved childhood shows, actors from cult films and other harmless eccentrics seems a bit odd.
