Will go to Foden as his shot was on target.
Coleman was involved in the equaliser tho.

Coleman very much playing an advanced position here almost on the right side of midfield.

Having a good game too should have scored and put a great ball on a plate for Richarlson was shocking from him not to just hit it.

I have really warmed to him playing RM in recent weeks as who else have we got to play there. Think he’d work better there then Doherty who could play RB then.

Great run and anticipation of the cross then he remembered he’s Irish and he’s not allowed to score.

Happy for him. 7/10 performance. Could tell by the scenes at the end that he is loved by the staff and players

Very good performance form him today. That higher roles seems to be suiting him really well. Could work well for us in March especially away to Serbia as he offers a lot of protection especially as Dohertys defending isn’t great when he’s in a four.

If Kenny leaves him out the next day it will be a bad sign of Kenny’s man management

Depends what Kenny’s thinking is. Whether we like it or not this may be a development phase and there are players who due to age and certainly others through performance should be discounted!

Looking at that it has to be considered. What impressed me he was always capable going forward but that run for the goal and that ball to Richarlson he showed ability going forward too.

We don’t have anyone capable of playing that side.

Not a chance he’s left out

Have you seen the rest of our squad? Would be a bit strange not playing one of the best players

What’s to be considered? Coleman’s a better defender than Doherty especially if Kenny opts for a back four. He’s well capable of being at threat going forward which he’s shown the last three games. Are you listening to Martin O Neill too much “Young Doherty” is 29 after all hes hardly of an age to be part of the rebuild.

What young lad or older lad have we that is better than him.
This is not a league club going through a period of transition this is the National team you put out your best available team and try and win your games.
There is no assurances the team will be better in 2 years time

So who plays ahead of him?

In my opinion you have to have your best players on the field so it would be a waste having either Doherty or Coleman on the bench I know Doherty is not in good form but he's playing for Spurs and is no doubt one of our better players

Ok Daniel ! Have a wee look at Switzerland away and if you come back with a worse Ireland performance at right back by doherty than that in his limited caps. I’ll give you a grand!Seamus lovely fella no doubt.average enough for us though!

Sorry there’s no Daniel here you must have the wrong person. Well done on picking out one poor performance out of 50 odd appearances he has had for us. What kind of fetish have you with Doherty? You mentioned that Coleman was lacking for game time over on Matt Doherty thread, they have started the same amount of games this season you seem to be more interested in being up my username than actually talking about football. Are you really saying that Doherty is a better defender than Coleman? Trying to justify a 29 year old starting in March as part of a “rebuilding period” come on now, at least you have us a good laugh.
