    Posted: 03 Dec 2011 at 10:30am
Seems several people are going via Berlin and plan to get the train down.  From what i have seen there is a direct Berlin to Warsaw train that stops in Poznan but this is an infrequent service. There are trains to the polish border but changes must be made onward to Poznan.
There are several train stations in Berlin, but major stations from which you can go to PoznaƄ are Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten and Ostbahnhof

Do people intend on getting the direct train? (Berlin to Warsaw). If tickets are purchased early the Europa-Spezial Polen is available for 19 euro. But cannot be bought until 92 days before.

Direct trains from Berlin to Poznan with DB on the Saturday (9th) are

This should help you find the right station in Berlin.

Lads, the designated party train on the Saturday is the 14.40 from Berlin Zentral (14.51 from Ostbahnhof). Stock up on cans and somebody bring an iPod !

For those coming from Krakow, we could do with a Krakow to Poznan party train on the 9th as well.

08:20 - 16:15
09:00 - 17:23
11:00 - 19:18
15:26 - 22:05

I vote for the 11:00 train. It's not too late getting in and not too late starting off. As long as the Polish off licences are open before 11am, that is.

At least 4 of us heading down on the Saturday too. 14:40 would be the best train for us or the later one as it happens.

Anyone of the 'organising' types on here fancy getting in touch with deutsche bahn and enquiring about a group booking? Might enable us to secure a booking before the 90 day timescale, guarantee a price and ensure all the mad ***ts are in one carriage etc..etc... just a thought like.
