Completely agree am watching here, Wigan are fairly shocking, man city having another off night, but Wigan not takin advantage.
I think Swansea, QPR even Blackburn would give city a better game tonight, which is a bad sign for Wigan.
McCarthy is the prob the best of a bad bunch, al habsi ain't bad either

He's doing alright, had a decent effort well saved by Hart. He's battling away in the midfield! In fairness though Wigan are shocking, they give the ball away so easy!

Have been watching James closely tonight. He has done extremely well. Has scrapped for and won alot of ball and very unlucky not to score after a lung busting run. Easily best Wigan player

He's put himself about and has done his best to break up city's attacks. Nearly scored after a lovely move. Some nice passes in the last few minutes.
67% points to games ratio at the last Euro's (better than Portugal's)

Made a lot of passes tonight and battled well. Looked dangerous enough when he was put in a more advanced roll for 10 mins or so. Had a couple of sloppy moments at the end though.

McCarthy done very well, looked very accomplished, Wigans best player by a mile. Remarkable when you consider his young age.

I noticed he took a more advanced role when Watson came on, plays both midfield roles well. Passed a few hopeless ones tonight, but so did every Wigan player to be fair.

In the last 30 mins was at the heart of everything. Would love to see him play in a stronger team he would be very good. Still think he is our best midfield player and should definetly be starting alongside Whelan.

Trap just has to give him a proper look in the friendlies.  Tonight was a big test for him and he passed it with flying colours.  Several times that fookin idiot Alan Parry was sh*teing on about something irrelevant when James won back possession and he just fookin ignored it or hadn't the knowledge to praise it.  Keep playing like that and he'll be outa Wigan in the Summer to a decent team.  I'm every optimistic about this lad now, he was terrific tonight.

Funny that gossip pages haven't linked him with a move away in this transfer window yet, it being silly season.

Don't think he was playing particularly brilliantly to really earn a move away yet, but he has a chance between now and end of PL season and the Euros (if he gets action) to get a big move.  Play like he did tonight and he'll have a few interested parties.

If Wigan are regulated McCarty will definitely be gone in the summer and it is looking like they will, worst goal difference in the league and bottom too.Would ye reckon he be good enough to hold down a regular place for one of top clubs in the premier league or would he be better of going to mid table team eg everton, villa etc, where he would be guaranteed first team and keep learning his trade or even a move abroad?Liverpool & chelsea where ment to be interested in him when he was at hamilton

Yep. A year ago we said he needed more game time with his club to prove himself. He's done that.
I'm pretty certain that he will go to Poland, but it's time for Trap to start trusting him and giving him a chance to prove himself in our engine room.

Another solid performance from James. Still can't believe he has six years in senior football under his belt, only just gone 21. Fair play.

James needs to get the fuk out of Wigan and start playing with a decent club with quality around him, would love to see him playing at Villa although it won't happen he would be quality there, fair play to him though from the reports he had a great game, gwan James Clap
