He might just be a quiet lad but he didn't seem to be too overjoyed in his pitch-side interviews when we beat Italy and Wales.

Football wise, he's a bit of an enigma imo where he's a guaranteed starter but generally drifts out of games for both his club and country. Every so often he then comes up with an excellent finish or bit of skill that changes a game but just goes back to being Mr Anonymous.
Maybe his camera shyness could explain why he makes such an effort to conceal himself on the pitch during the match itself, from any area where attention may be focused, such as where the ball is in motion.

More nonsense from yourself. He was by far the best of our midfield 3 and did a pretty decent job keeping Eriksen quiet.

That’s the problem, we don’t have a midfield. What Mick McCarthy achieved was incredibly impressive without one!
The Danish fans must be furious!

Was he not nearly crying in his interview after we beat Italy. He definitely was as the cameras were following the players around after the final whistle.

I feel like people have become so indoctrinated by the supposed "Whelan role" that he could literally stand in the centre circle for 90 minutes and they would think he had done well. None of our midfielders did much last night, but Whelan did the least. The amount of space left between the midfield and defence time and time again was comical, and Glenn wss nowhere to be seen. It was actually an unusually terrible performance from him, and that's saying something.
We're decent enough..

Hendrick on the bench, Brady no where to be seen. With Mick basing so much on players playing it’s a little surprising that someone like Mullumby wasn’t included in his provisional squad and Ryan Manning instead of Greg Cunningham

Hendrick is one of those players that Mick will start regardless, assuming he's 100% fit.

The equation for the ireland team seems to be

= current ireland experience / current club playing time * football ability

Late equaliser for Burnley against Brighton after coming on as a sub. Might play himself back into the team. Would be good to see.

won the ball back in midfield and followed up with a quality goal... he is very much capable of moments like that but obviously doesn't do it consistently enough
