Steve Bruce sacked this morning. While Hendrick is unlikely to have a future there post January, it would be nice if the new manager gave him some game time between now and then. It's not like Hayden, Shelvey, Longstaff and Willock are world beaters by any means.

Willock scored 7 in 7 last season. Imagine if Jeff did that 😂
He can't score from the bench! He has one in his last 20 minutes tbf! When did willock last score? Smile

Ah I am just saying imagine how we would lose our minds if Hendrick did that.

Any chance he'll get back in with Shelvey suspended?

Don’t think so. Shelvey came off the bench himself before he got sent off.

Depends on the new manager, imho he is at least as good if not better than both Hayden and Longstaff and Shelvey is very hit and miss.

Only an Irish player would get dropped from squads for scoring.

LOL

He's become a popular scapegoat after bad Ireland results, often unfairly, and partially, one suspects, because supporters are loath to attack the newer players (at the Serbia game, a furious fan in my vicinity launched a tirade of abuse at Hendrick after Adam Idah had given the ball away).

Hendrick wasn't in the squad for the game today against Brentford.

Is he being kept safe to sell in January I wonder?

Can't see how Jeff will fit into Howe's plans to be honest as he is more of a holding midfield player Howe's teams are all attack and no defence . If you want to see goals then St James Park will be the place this season .
Lansdowne Road debut aged 52 and 201 days .

I wouldn't have described him thus but I'd say Sean Dyche would take him back to Burnley if the opportunity arises. He's back to form with Ireland and there may be interest elsewhere if the Newcastle gig is over.

Played there regularly for Derby and was very good in that position. Has a more of a box to box role for Ireland these days, although he has suffered from being played wide right and as a 10 for Ireland in the past. Dyche often used him on the RHS. Hopefully he'll get a look in under Howe, he could certainly do a job for them as one of the two in a 5-3-2 or to the RHS of a 4-3-3. IMO he's better than what they have and he deserves a chance. Last time he got 10 mins for them, he scored.

Back on the bench today, which is a start, let's hope he gets some minutes!

Hard to believe he can't get a chance in that Newcastle team. Unless he's a sh*t trainer, and say what you want about him but you can't question his professionalism, he keeps himself in great shape.

Most of that Newcastle team needs to be cleared out and replaced by players who are up to PL standard. Newcastle have the money now that they are a wholly owned subsidiary of a rogue state but the clear-out is going to be a daunting task for Howe or whoever may replace him if they go down. Too big a squad with many on fat long term contracts. I believe Jeff will be shipped out in January, possibly back to Burnley, and they may not want to play him and risk injury in the meantime.
