Still the best midfielder in the squad for me (and still the best hair!). Plenty of lads coming through to challenge that though (not regarding the hair obviously).

Or ... maybe we get behind one of the few premier league players we have left, let alone irish players scoring in the premier league.

Theres only so much of that you can do with inconsistency of a player like Jeff. You're acting like this is a one off rough patch or something, the lads been having a rough patch for 6 years!

Would you not be happy to see one of our few players in the EPL doing well?
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Not sure how you've logically arrived at this when posters have just wanted Jeff to do well.

i think most would agree the 2 most dissatisfying results are the LUX and AZE games. JH didn’t feature in either.
Make of that what you will.

as a midfielder in limited teams Jeff manages a goal about every 10 games or so, and has done so consistently over the past 6 seasons while starting >20 games in the last 3 years, and >30 in the 3 before that... he's obviously not starting games this year, but coming on and scoring, even in a defeat, will do him no harm and by extension, it's good for us to have a midfielder coming into camp feeling confident..

You're generally a decent poster on here but what's with the sarcastic sh*te towards Hendrick?

I don't get the animosity people have towards Hendrick even if  he can be frustrating at times when he drifts out of games. It's not like he ever acted the prick not showing up for Ireland squads or anything like that.

A midfielder scoring goals is always nice but its their all round performance in midfield that counts first and foremost. Jeff can be anywhere from a 3 to an 8 out of 10 and you just never know which one you're going to get. Usually somewhere in between. Thats the inconsistency I' talking about.

Much like Hourihane that can whip in good balls from frees and corners as well as scoring the odd goal, its not good enough if hes hiding for the rest of the game and teams are cutting though the midfield like a hot knife through butter.

Theres times with the pair of them we may as well be playing with 10 men.

Hendrick was excellent over the last window to be fair to him, but its a big ask for that Hendrick to show up again this window.

That's a fair assessment, I think. We all know what he can do when he's at his best so the inconsistency can be frustrating. He would have played for bigger PL clubs if not for it. No animosity re my previous post, by the way, just a little levity.
