Thought it was a strange starting line up alright, assumed Covid related but obviously not

Shocking performance, flat and slow doing everything. Brighton well deserved it and had the better of the chances.

Looked like the bad patch had passed with two good wins v Spurs & West Ham but that was as bad if not worse then anything so far this season. Don't have enough quality on the bench to change things around too much but definitely need to get Henderson back into MF even though he's doing a good job at CB.

Shaqiri gives nothing when he starts, decent impact sub. Ox hasn't been the same player since the injury & cannot understand why he persists with bringing on Origi, he's just pure sh*te.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them beat City on Sunday though, they're that sort of team, but the league is dead unfortunately. Get the new CB's up & running and get Jota back and can hopefully give the CL a good go but the form would have to seriously improve for that
Some people just deserve a slap

Really stupid decision to play Jota in that meaningless CL game looking back. He had won games for the team earlier in the season when the rest of the team wasn't playing as well. Could have done with him in a lot of these games where we haven't looked like scoring.

Didn't realise we'd signed Fabien Barthez in the January transfer window

Assuming both teams win in midweek, which can't be taken for granted in this of all seasons, if City lose Liverpool will only be a point behind and City's February is tough

With City's defence in great shape, Pep will set up for a draw and hit them on the break  (Considering Liverpool are usually 2-3 goals up in 30 minutes the last few years). I expect this to be a very tight game 1-0 to either team a probable result

Pep will not set up for a draw, they have the better team and I suspect Pep will see this as the chance to seal the title.

Correct.

Next weekend is a free hit for City. No crowd at Anfield and with Liverpool missing their main CB pairing, it's the best possible chance in years for City to beat them at Anfield.

Even a draw is a good result for City but a win would have the title race more or less done 7 points ahead and a game in hand. I don't think City would drop enough points even with 16 games remaining if they were in that position.
That's it. City come away with a draw and it's a huge step towards the title. Must win game for Liverpool.

Not a great first half yesterday but were super in the second. Three brilliant goals & two good results in a row now so hopefully that's the corner turned
I don't know why any Liverpool supporter would look at it as anything other than a brilliant chance to claw back some serious ground on the oil sheikhs

It's the exact same situation as that game at the Emirates Arena in January 2019, except in reverse

With De Bruyne out Liverpool are well capable of a thumping win

Need to beat Brighton first of course

That aged well

First time Liverpool have lost three home league games in a row since 1963 I think.

Against City and all, Allison was very Sheikhy at the back.
