@Coyne, that's a huge amount of bread to be eating. As HB would say, your sh*t must come out like a walking stick.

The mental side of it is tough at times. All have dips after a while, it's getting out of them and back to how you were going that is hard. Find I'd be going well for a few weeks, then stop exercising and start eating sh*te again for a few days & struggle to get back to where was

Eating far less sh*te, joined the gym at the start of December and doing my absolute best to have my last meal between 6 and 8pm. The earlier the better.

Down 8.5 lbs and am very happy. Best I've ever done I think.

Actually find weighing myself using KG rather than stone and lbs is a massive motivational tool, because you're seeing it regularly on the scales.

Aiming to lose another KG before the end of this month and then back to eating sh*te at all ours of the night for me

Is not eating after 8 a big thing?   I love snacks.  I was doing a lot of running in November and December and cut down on sh*te food and beer but still couldn't lose weight.  Do weight training as well in the gym.
Late 30s now so maybe this is the way its going to be.

Is there any way to lose 1/2 stone without living living like a puritanical monk?

Yes, eating shortly before bed just means your not burning the energy as efficiently. I put on too much weight getting into a cycle of going to training 3 nights a week straight after work (coaching, not participating, so not exercise) and having something to eat at 8, 9 or 10pm when I get home.

I've stopped that and it has been a big change. Along with diet and exercise changes. Nothing revolutionary, just common sense.

Maybe it is an age thing. I'm 37 now, but finding it harder to keep the weight off.
Wife had our first child in August and between lack of sleep and therefore having no motivation to eat healthily, and no time to go to the gym, I've put on about a stone.
Hard to get it off but starting strict dieting and exercise programme today now that Christmas and my holidays are out of the way

I don't eat breakfast and find it has the same effect as not eating in the evening. Would have my first food at lunch time and probably last around 9-10pm.

Pretty much the same.
Put on a stone since the baby was born in Oct and have no time to go to the gym.
Will have to try some short intense exercises each day and cut down on the booze/junk food.

The upside is when the baby gets mobile, you lose weight, and fast. You are constantly on the move and rarely sit down for more than a few moments before they go down for the final time in a day.

When I was in early days I just made sure to get out as much as I could with the buggy and baby and walk for as long as it took for them to fall asleep. Going for coffee, cheeky one in the local always took them. If friends wanted to meet, we’d agree to go meet them. When they aren’t mobile it just requires incorporating them into a good walking schedule which fights the flab. But once they are fully mobile, I can guarantee you’ll notice the difference.

Yeah I try to eat within an 8 or 10 hour window. Worked wonders for me. If i go to the gym in the morning I won't have breakfast either and will wait a while before eating (until I actually feel hungry)
