The Randolph retirement story was written by journalist Aidan Fitzmaurice in today's Belfast Telegraph but has been removed online and does not appear anywhere else that I have seen. So, could be inaccurate, or else the journalist knew something others didn't. Clarification from Randolph himself would be helpful.

The oneness is not on the target of an article to clarify it - that responsibility is with the journalist.
The fact the article was only in one place and has since been removed speaks volumes.

Exactly, players or anybody for that matter cant be expected to go around confirming or denying something that may or may not have happened.
