Whoever came up with this idea is a moron. Never mind the financial cost to the club losing spectators to the gaa game and sky super Sunday it will be gridlock for traffic. For anyone who hasn't been up here Celtic park and the brandywell stadium are across the road from each other and it's already a built up residential area.

How long does this tv deal go on for?? Ridiculous that rte can screen a game and pay the club nothing

It's a disaster for Cork fans. We had a full bus and accommodation booked.

Nightmare, can you get the accommodation transferred? City should be quieter on the Sunday but suppose it ruins the craic - up on the Friday, game, out on the town, beer.

Only consolation I can offer is that Sunday night is the best night out in Derry . Only other option is up the Saturday, beer, game on sunday then down the road.

I think we're going up on the saturday and away home on the Sunday. A few places are sold out but there's always the Frontier and Hostels. Travelodge gone up to £90 that night.

Its the night before Paddys day fella

In order to facilitate the live coverage of the game, the date and kick off time for the fixture must be changed.  Therefore the game will now be played on Sunday 16th March, kick off time 3.15pm and not the original date of Friday 14th March.

Don't know how the change to Sunday will affect our contingent for the shamrock match, on one hand people who work the Friday can now go but on the other hand some who may have travelled may not watch it in the pub with a few pints. Can't wait for the kick off now !!

Feel sorry for Kevin and his family but thus is the correct decision by the club. Kevin was one of our top earners the past couple of seasons but has hardly played due to injury, everyone was surprised that Devine gave him another year and it turned out to be a mistake as he played very little. The lad has a bad knee and recently had another knee op (paid for by the club), it would have been crazy giving him another contract .

People are saying the club showed no loyalty to Kevin but I think they have already shown loyalty the past 2 years keeping him on and it has obviously been a substantial financial cost to the club. He began training with the club a few weeks ago to try and prove his fitness but the lad has been miles off. He has to take some of the blame himself also as he was taking spin classes whilst out injured with a knee problem and he made it much worse.

If a fit Kevin Deery was available I'd expect nearly every club in the league would be interested as it is I think he''ll struggle to get a club even in the Irish league unless he takes a pay as you play
