My favourite ever player for united bar keano, one of the most gifted midfielders i've ever seen, little wonder a rake of pro's say he's the best they've played with/against, sitting back row of the third tier seeing him score that cracker is possibly the best goal i've ever seen in person, sad day to see him go

What can you say about Paul Scholes?
One of the most gifted players ever to wear a United jersey. He will be sorely missed.
It will be harder to replace Scholes than it was to replace Schmeichel.

He loved the ping! Clap

He's an idiot.

Quote "Is he the best in the world? He might not get the attention of [Lionel] Messi and Ronaldo but, yes, I think he just might be," Zidane said. "If you don't have a player like Steven Gerrard, who is the engine room, it can affect the whole team.

Sweet jesus your not trying to compare Gerrard to Paul Scholes are you???

There's being an ABU and there's being a bitter ABU and right now you are the latter.

Zidane on Scholes:
“He’s almost untouchable in what he does,” said Zidane. “I never tire of watching him play. You rarely come across the complete footballer, but Scholes is as close to it as you can get. One of my regrets is that the opportunity to play alongside him never presented itself during my career. He was an extremely tough opponent to play against. You didn’t get any time on the ball when he was around. He would close you down and make your life terribly uncomfortable. He is the type of player you want on your side, not in opposition because he could do so much damage. He is very gifted. He makes the game look easy because he’s so much natural ability.”

Just because Zidane says Scholes is better than him doesn't make it true. Zidane scored 3 World Cup final goals ffs. And scored the greatest ever CL final winner. He was unbelievable.

Zidane isn't always right, as we see with the ludicrous statement in 2009 that Gerrard was the best player in the World.

Don't start that ABU sh*te. I'm just pointing out to VKB that Scholes wasn't the greatest midfielder of his generation.

Great memories of Scholesie...a true pro! A legend I will never forget.  A superb, superb, superb footballer.

But the best midfielder of his generation?  Please.

If I keep writing enough hagiographic articles on Man Utd, they might give me a job
