strange one trying him out as a LB.  anytime i have seen Brady play its all about his flair.  playing LB will certainly develop the defensive side of his game.

Would be great if he got some first team game time at left back for united or even if he needs to move on

Ashley cole glen johnson etc started off as wingers no reason brady cant do the same

Would be great to get a strong left back as ward just doesnt cut it at international level imo

No harm in trying the kid out of at Left Back imo , if it doesn't work so be it but if it does happy days!

Best of luck to him playing left back, he will have more chance playing for Man Utd if he can play at the back as every year they seem to get a lot of injuries there, cant see him starting much in Utd's midfield, Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher have all played a few games in UTD's back for last 2 years so be good experience for him. I do remember Steve Finnan started out either as forward or attacking player. I remember Pederson at Bolton an out and out striker yet Bolton played him as left back for while to, fingers crossed for himApprove

I can see why left back is a possibility for RB, he is quick, mobile and aggressive. He is also decent in the air. Him and Aidy White on the wing would be like an episode of Roadrunner!

Wouldn't imagine the kid has a defensive bone in his body
Too much natural attacking talent from what I've seen of him

Remains to be seen, my point is that he has decent attributes for the role. I'd imagine he could play blindfolded and defend better than ward

Think his future is as a left winger, his attributes suit that role, but trying him out there during pre season can't do any harm.Fergie really showing his age with the 'outside left' quote too!

Really dont see him as a left back. We have Cunningham and Wilson for left back so i hope Brady progresses in his natural position of left wing.

hang on, 2 points that people are missing here....
1. Fergie knows this lad better than any us, and if he feel that he can play left back then i would say go for it.
2. Its rare that Fergie mentions his younger players unless he has serious plans for them and he feels they can cut it....

this whole thing reminds me of John O'Shea coming onto the scene bought ten years ago.

This can only be good news for us as fans.

The whole thing reminds me of Alan Smith playing center midfield.

Let Fergie go out and but a left full and develop Brady into his best position - left wing.

Give him a ring there horsey!...im sure he would take your opinion on board!...lads makin too much of this, united are ridicolously short at the back going into the tour, they were always going to play a midfielder out of position in the back line and some point, may as well give the game time to a promising youngster...its a good sign though...hopefully a couple of good performances might bag him a prem loan move?,would he get regular football at a prem club??
