I think most people would be happy to see mccaethy and Brady back in the fold as long as they can get a run of games together and keep fit. Both are good players.

What isn't really needed is Brady playing a couple of games for Bournemouth, getting back into a ireland team and then getting injured for the next round of games.

It does nothing for the continuity of the team, they're never fully match fit and is generally bad for the player himself.

If Brady is paying regularly and back to his very very best then I would have no issue with that. How realistic is that in reality it's not. He's most certainly not a LWB and I don't fancy him as a 10 in this formation either. Bring him into the squad every now and then for sure but if theres a younger improving player like McGrath or Knight playing well then absolutely no way should Brady be considered ahead of him. It's that simple really.

I like Brady nothing against him and it's such a pity injuries have blighted him as we could have built a team around a fit Brady/McCarthy from Euro 2016 on.

As for the Hendrick comparisons they are unfair he hasn't been blighted by injury just had a dip in form. He absolutely should be in an Ireland squad no comparison.

Neil Warnock reveals that Middlesbrough tried to sign him: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.ie/sport/football/7782950/neil-warnock-robbie-brady-bournemouth-middlesbrough/amp/

I wonder if he would've been better off going there rather than a side 5 points clear at the top already.

It might be a situation where Parker is reticent to break a winning formula and he ends up picking up scraps in terms of minutes.

Only a few years since Hoolahan went there after leaving Norwich and barely played - granted he was significantly older.

He was brought in to replace Brooks who was diagnosed with Cancer and will be out for some time. Brooks had played most games up until his diagnosis the other week. They're a bit light in that area so he should get his chance.

...and Hoolahan went to West Brom not Bournemouth! He was 36/37 and knew he was signing as cover.

Realistically it probably suits him fine not to be needed every week as lets face it he isn't reliable and is in fact listed injured again already for their game last night. Bournemouth are also in parachute payment land so he's almost certainly 'better off' where he is and that is what will have made his mind up.

Serious brainfart from me considering I'm named after him.

It was down to money. Warnock was keen to sign him but admitted he couldn't compete with what Bournemouth were offering. He did criticise Robbie's agent, claiming that Burnley offered a new contract but the agent pressed him to turn it down.

Better team, better money, likely to get back in to the PL, good move for Robbie. the big question remains whether he can get fully fit and play regularly. If he does, then he comes back in to the fold for Ireland, if not at least he's earned himself a nice few quid at a decent club.

He was working with the FAI fitness coach Damien Doyle back in Ireland out in the AUL practically every day until he found a club. Also took part in training with the Ireland squad last month prior the Qatar game. So yeah he seemed stay on top of things.

Good to hear that Kenny brought him in to train. Provided us with some great days and good to give him support when he needs it.

"Minor, minor knock" kept him out against Derby. Cool, cool. We wouldn't want it to be one of those major, major knocks that keep him out for 6 months at a time.

Brady and the need to "thread carefully" seem to go hand in hand unfortunately. Also don't like the talk of him possibly playing as a left back.

Has he taken up knitting in his ample free time?

Gets his Bournemouth debut, on for the last few minutes vs Fulham.

First game since Qatar back in March.
