I’d be intrigued to know how many of the people who argue for the ultimate abolition of travel by aeroplane have absolutely no necessity for the service and as such can make a completely personal choice, without cutting off family and friends, or jeopardising other aspects of their life?

Exactly it, a plane leaving to The US from Dublin for example could have around 20 tonnes of fuel on board, this added weight when landing would bring over its safe weight so has to be used or jettisoned.

Hasn't stopped all day.

When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Do you change ends at half time so each player gets the chance to play with the wind?

If it is blowing strong enough you can just play against the wind, although the wind would be a strong favourite to win.
