This should be about Daylight Time, not Trading Time.

England and France, Spain and Portugal, Macedonia and Greece, Hungary  and Ukraine manage this 1 hour difference perfectly well all year round without disruption. So can we.

Could you imagine Dublin / Belfast having a different time zone?

Won’t happen imo.

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

You need to stick to one time zone but each country can pick.
It's a bit annoying because no doubt if we do have to choose, the most practical one is to pick the brighter mornings in winter, shorter evenings in summer. So will lose those really late nights out in the back garden in the summer in favour of kids going into school and it's still pitch black more ir less at 9am in december

How is that the most practical? The opposite is better for energy conservation, mental wellbeing, accident prevention and nearly 90% of people who responded to the government poll and all independent polls are in favour of summertime all year round. Only way we won't go for that is if the Brits don't fancy it and there's issues with the North.

Summer time all the way round is the logical way to go, plus it's the way it was before any of the changing the clocks came into force!!

Different States do it also in Oz. No problem whatsoever. Typical bullsh*t from the Paddies giving out about it.

Sci , I recall going from WA over to SA by road and for want of a better word there was a small box of land where the time difference  was 15 minutes either ahead or behind one side of the boarder .

Hey met a dude once who was headed for Eastern Samoa for New year then taking the short hop over the international date line the next day into Western Samoa for new Year all over again . Big smile
Lansdowne Road debut aged 52 and 201 days .

I think there is a strong chance that the Spaniards could change to GMT+1 year round, same as Portugal, not the same as France. We shall see, though.

He did your worst night of the year twice, I would be under the impression that he thinks it’s great. He also got a story out of it, one that probably makes every other New Year’s Eve miserable for those closest to him!
