Another impressive result for the Blades what a manager Chris Wider is.

1 point after 12 games.

Derby County had 6 points after 12 games of their record-breaking 2007/2008 season....

Terrible collapse. But the conundrum is, do they accept it as a given, and stick with Wilder as the best option going forward, or make a move for a survival merchant, in the hope of salvage?

What is strange is the relegation dogfight at the moment is bizarrely uncompetitive. It looks like it is a three way split for two spots, assuming Brighton continue their run as being the 15th/16th placed team, and SU gone.

I'm optimistic the lads can perform a Houdini act like 30 years ago in 1990/91 when we were in a very similar position at this stage of the season

Last season they didn’t score loads but averaged 1 a game. With a good defence they managed to pick up a lot of wins by 1 goal.

This season they just can’t score and can’t keep a clean sheet.
They are going down unless they have a busy jan transfer window. They need goals.

Even if United drop down they have to stick with Wider as he got them there in the first place and he would take them back up again .
Lansdowne Road debut aged 52 and 201 days .

Only one top flight team has ever had a worse start to the season i.e. 12 x straight defeats:

"The last game of the season, a 4–4 home draw with Middlesbrough, was watched by fewer than 4,000 spectators"

LOL

And were the trains running for their previous home games eg:
6,414 - Blackburn
8,058 - Liverpool
5,420 - Sheff U
3,679 - Leicester
4,808 - Portsmouth
9,745 - WHU

Though tbf, they did get 39,876 for the derby game vs City. Which nearly brought their seasonal average up to 5 figures:

Come on you Blades

Billy Sharp and John Egan secure a comeback 2-1 win over West Bromwich

30 years ago we didn't win a match until game 17 and stayed up

We'll do it again
