Luis Enrique survey has to resign after that. One striker in the squad and he only started one game. A gutless performance.

While piling on extra African teams could mean eg  Mali, Burkina Faso or Cabo Verde? From Asia it might be Iraq, Oman or Uzbekistan?. And from CONCACAF, maybe Panama, El Salvador or Honduras? (All those teams are near the top of their Confederation rankings).

Meaning once the novelty had worn off, you'd be left with garbage who likely wouldn't win a game (unless playing each other).

Though the Senegalese fans at these finals were highly entertaining, I'll give them that!
I picked the African teams that were literally in the playoffs this time around (ie the ones that would have got to 2022 if there were more spots this year). Burkino Faso and Cape Verde weren't so I don't see how they were relevant.

Going on 2022 actual qualifier results....
If you gave 3 more spots to Europe, you get Ukraine, Sweden, North Macedonia
If you give 5 more spots to Africa you get Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria
If you gave 3 more spots to Asia you get UAE, Iraq, Oman
If you give 3 more spots to South America you get Peru, Colombia, Chile
If you give 3 more spots to Panama, Jamaica, El Salvador (which is currently only proposed for 2026seeing as they have 3 hosts)

Glad the Spaniards went out, Morocco are well organised but not great on the eye.

Or the 13 European teams, 3 didn't get a win.

Rather selective,

For the 18 non-European teams include eg Brazil, Argentina, Japan and S.Korea and no-one is arguing against those teams being in Qatar.

Whereas if you look at the 5 African teams for example, the only games they won in 8 meetings with European teams were Tunisia 1 v 0 France Reserves (i.e. 3rd game), and Morocco 2 v 0 Belgium.

While all the 13 European teams were in a group with another European team except Netherlands and Portugal, who both topped their groups, and Poland, who qualified for the Last 16 behind Argentina.
Add Spain to Africa's wins.

To be honest I think you almost need to discount the top 10 in the world or so (8 Europeans, Brazil and Argies). After that, the other spots should be divided fairly evenly among federations. It's about the way it's done currently, and probably how it'll end up with 48 teams WC too

Ah so there is a real danger that if England beat France they could have Morocco or Switzerland in the semi.

I am confident France will knock England out, but you never know. Can't really see anything apart from a France v Brazil final.

Argentina are more than capable of winning this tournament. The way they absolutely toyed with Italy earlier this year and their victory over Brazil in the Copa America final, clearly shows that they possess the ability to win it all.

Portugal have been decent. Two tough games and they have created a load of chances. Once they get to the knock outs and Ronaldo has played too many games in a short period it'll be lights out

Best they can hope for is Ronaldo picking up an injury! Look much more fluid without him in attack.

Best thing for Portugal.
