I know not too many people have much time for Wetherspoons and they are a different beast to a lot of other places, but they can sell the likes of Beamish, Carlsberg, Coors and many other draught for around the €3.30 mark, can sell a jemmy or vodka and others incl a splash mixer for €3 odd quid and still make money. I did recently stop into the one in Blanch for a quick snack, had a BBQ chicken cheese and bacon panini with bottomless tae for €4.50.

As I said a different beast to a lot of places but I do think a lot of the pricing now is gouging pure and simple.

If more casual places/take aways play their cards right then they can cash in somewhat. Had a kebab earlier before the match in Tallaght in a place called Perios. €10 for a serious sized kebab, sit in too.

Went for a Carvery on Sunday there with the family, hadn't been for one since this time last year. €20 up from €13 and they were complete scabs with the portions. €12 for a kids half portion that they tend to eat f**k all of anyway. Deserts were €6 or €7. Think softs drinks were €3.50. Cost the the gits of €150 for a fairly bog standard meal! Never again.

Carvery is up there with the worst of Irish cuisine.

Hate them,  the McDonald’s of pubs but am a frequent visitor especially if pushed for time at an airport you can usually get a quick bite to eat
Their beer is good Stella on draft morettii in bottles
Their breakfasts are good
Their fish and chips/curry is very good
Their app is good
Their prices are very good

When I have time and choice I wouldn’t but often have to

Looking for Restaurants that have non-alcoholic Heiniken on tap (or the Blade).

Anywhere in Dublin or surrounds.

Sick of going to a place and the only thing they have is Heiniken or Erlinger in the bottle.

Had a very good meal in Arisu on Capel Street last night. It’s a small enough Korean place. We got the shared BBQ option plus a few extras like some sushi, dumplings and beef noodles. It’s a bit of a teppanyaki set up where they cook the meat on your table. You can BYOB but they also serve some booze (Asian beer, Sake, some cocktails).
For 4 people, it was €120 which was great value as we had a few beers and there was plenty of food. I’ll defo be back
