Will he get his game? What kind of football do Norwich play? We all thought Fulham was a good move but it ended up a disaster.

Agree with all of that, no need for him to be the first receiver of the ball at the back, it was a strange decision to do so vs Scotland who clearly targeted him. Having said that he's also not as bad with the ball at feet as is made out, just prone to the odd shocker. 7 goals in 55 internationals outline what a threat he can be from set pieces. Teams wont relish defending set pieces against us with the likes of Egan, Collins, Duffy, Ferguson, Idah attacking them.

A fit and firing Duffy is a great addition to any Championship team.
He will score goals and marshal the defence. I'd love to see him back in the Ireland setup but we can't be using him as the short out-ball from Bazunu like we tried before.

Great news, hope to see Big Shane back in the green again, good platform for him to rebuild his career after a season in the wilderness. Still only 31, 32 next January, he easily has a few seasons left in him.

Hopefully a good move for him. I keep hearing about Omobamidele being cashed in on but I wouldn't mind that pairing. Think he's a safer pair of hands and better option for an experienced figure for him to learn from.

Player ratings from the ratings thread on here show he had a good first half of the season but a poor second half but that coincided with Readings poor form. His average overall rating is about a 6/10. Not great but not terrible either for a team that was relegated. Jeff Hendrick 6.5 Got around the pitch but
had much more of an impact in the second half as he looked to get stuck
in and disrupt Blackpool's momentum. Helped keep things ticking over
going forward. Jeff Hendrick 7 Gave Reading much more of a
physical presence in midfield and looked much more assured compared to
last week at Blackpool. Brought lots of energy to the side and didn't
give Cardiff any time on the ball. Jeff Hendrick 5 Has the vision to play
higher up the field, but still looks a little off the pace. Hopefully as
he gets more minutes through the season he’ll get fitter, because he
has the tools to be useful at this level. Jeff Hendrick 7 Gave the team lots of
energy in the midfield with his pressing and driving runs. Did tend to
frustrate from time to time, though, when he got into some decent
positions but then gave the ball away. Jeff Hendrick 7.5 Tenacious and energetic
display by the Irishman who had a couple of chances to get on the
scoresheet. Firstly, he had a shot deflected over the bar and he almost
latched onto a pass by Tom Ince but let the ball run past him. Jeff Hendrick 7.5 Worked so hard in the
midfield to press the Millwall players and provided an outlet higher up
the pitch. Missed a golden opportunity to score early in the second half
when he was played in by Ince but he fired straight at the keeper. Jeff Hendrick 8 Ran his socks off in the
middle of the park. Clever at finding spaces to make himself available
for passes and pressed the Stoke players hard. Jeff Hendrick 3 Did very little to impact
the game. A player of his experience needed to give the team a lot more
defensive cover and attacking threat. Jeff Hendrick 6 A better first half than
in the loss to Sunderland, with calm passing and defending on display.
Unfortunately though he wasted Reading’s first great chance of the
match, slicing Yiadom’s dangerous cutback over from less than five
yards. Jeff Hendrick 8.5 Probably his best
performance so far in a Reading shirt. Played a key role in the second
role and almost got on the scoresheet late on when he fired narrowly
wide from about 25 yards out. Jeff Hendrick 9 Terrific, hard-working
display by the Irishman who scored his first goal for the club in
brilliant fashion. Almost got on the scoresheet in the first half too
when he skimmed the post with a fantastic half volley. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 7 Unable to repeat his midweek heroics, sadly. Gave the midfield some presence and energy without making any impact on the game. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 5 Costly mistake
for Albion's second goal as his slip was pounced upon by Gardner-Hickman
who went on to blast the ball home. Nearly grabbed a consolation
shortly afterwards but stabbed his shot wide. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 5.5 Tended to be a passenger in the midfield, getting overrun at times and wasteful with the ball. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 7.5 Had
a shot in the first half with the outside of his right foot but it was
easily saved by O'Leary. Worked hard in the middle of the pitch and
create some half chances in the second half. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 5 Didn't make any impact at either ends of the pitch and rarely touched the ball. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 6 Kept
things ticking over in the midfield, he showed his experience. Could
have scored with a long-range strike in the second half. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 4.5 Another game
which seemed to pass the Irishman by. Had a couple of good moments but
generally failed to step up and control the midfield. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 5.5 Tended to be a passenger in the midfield, getting overrun at times and wasteful with the ball. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 4.5 Lacked any real impact on the game. Too often took the safe option which took the sting out of the side's attacking play. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 6 Escaped
with just a yellow card at the end of the first half when he went in
late on Woods despite loud cries for a red. Had a rather up and down
performance overall, with some defensive lapses but he did keep things
ticking over reliably in the middle. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 5 Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 4 The Irishman was
bypassed far too often in the midfield as Reading struggled to get a
foothold in the game early on. He did find himself in pockets of space
on a couple of occasions, but didn't make the most of those moments. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 8 Tripled his
tally for the season with two strikes in the first half. Took his first
goal superbly, drilling the ball home low from 25 yards while he showed
great awareness for the second to tap in from close range. Capped an
impressive-all round performance full of tenacity and energy. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 4 Kept things going in the midfield and did his best to affect things in the final third but got very little reward. Jeff Hendrick (Reading) 8 Was tidy and
neat for the first hour but began to stamp his authority on the game for
the final 30 minutes, culminating in a stunning volley to draw the
sides level. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 Drifted
around the middle of the park but had very little impact on the game.
Provided an option at the edge of the box when Reading were deep in
Sunderland territory. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 Went close early
on with a low shot which was on target but was well blocked and also
had an effort just after half time which was saved at the near post. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 6 Back in the side
after missing the Cardiff game because of illness. Did not have a
massive impact but covered in front of the defence well and was always
available for a pass. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 4 Had very few touches on the ball and mostly drifted around in midfield. Lost possession on a couple of occasions. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 6 Helped
cover the backline and his passing was tidy as he helped to keep things
ticking over in the midfield. Needed to offer more in the final third,
though. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 3.5 Brought
some energy to the middle of the park but struggled to make any
meaningful impact on the game. Had one half volley blocked and again,
lacked any creative vision. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 Kept things ticking over in the midfield with some nice short passes and found pockets of space. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 Was industrious
in midfield and neat in possession, recycling the ball and playing
simple passes to his teammates. However, his passing was more often than
not backwards or sideways, with little penetration going forward. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 4 Very ineffective. Was there for short passes and kept things ticking over but overall his impact was very poor. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 A passenger in
the midfield who really had very little impact on the game. Overrun in
the first half and while he improved somewhat in the second, he gave the
side very little to work with. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 4 Another game in
which the play seemed to pass him by. Couldn't impact the game at all
and when he did get on the ball he didn't always retain possession. Had a
decent effort late on which was turned around the corner. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5.5 Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 Largely overrun in the midfield and needed to impose himself more. Could have been stronger in his 50-50 challenges as well. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 The
Newcastle United loanee was involved heavily in the midfield and was
neat and tidy on the ball early on, but the Reading midfield was overrun
on plenty of occasions. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 6 An impressive
performer in the first half but tailed off badly in the second half and
was left chasing shadows for large parts of the second half. Jeff Hendrick - Reading 5 Gave the ball away far too many times without creating much. |

So in summary, they were only relegated due to a points deduction. Thanks for confirming hat was already stated.

You act like it was a 20 point deduction. It was a 6 point deduction. Granted they would have stayed up, but by a single point if they didnt get it the deduction. Bottom line, they were rubbish. And he was rubbish. Your favourite site whoscored ranks him 326 out of 374 players in the Championship who had 20 or more appearances. And rated 20th in Readings squad. Did you not check his ratings?

Ffs, it was a points deduction that got Reading relegated and Hendrick was one of their more consistent performers in what was a poor season. This is typical of the sh*te Hendrick gets subjected to.

Hanley is injured and won't be back until around Christmas, at his
age who knows how long it'll take for him to get back up to full speed,
or if he ever does. 2 years left on his contract. Duffy would basically be Hanley's replacement. Another
senior pro on the downside now. The only ones left playing top flight
football next season will be Coleman, Doherty & Egan. |

If they're planning on a partnership of Hanley and Duffy at centre back you'd have to assume they're moving away from playing it out from the back.

They are moving on Omabamidele even the owner admitted it recently. Think he was regretting turning down the money they turned down in January. As for Duffy would be an okay move but he might struggle a bit like Hanley has if they are trying to play out from the back. Would be surprised if Norwich went for him but maybe they just see a bargain too good to turn down and are moving quickly.

Norwich wouldn't be a bad move for him and would surely mean they're trying to move on Omobamidele. Get a decent fee for him and bring Duffy in on the cheap.

Duffy once formed a formidable centre back partnership with Grant Hanley when they both played for Blackburn. Both in early thirties now but would make some sort of sense for Norwich if they can get a big money move for Omobamidele.

PL rules. You can only have 2 players on loan from domestic clubs.
