The thing that annoys me most about all of this is that he hasn't even given Trap or us a reason as to why he doesnt want to come back at the moment. Yet, only a couple of months ago he publicly states that he'd love to play for Ireland again.

Stephen Ireland in February;

I'm available for selection, very much available. We need someone like him (Trapattoni) hopefully to bring it out of us and get us playing.

When Sven heard that he was announced, he said it was a great opportunity for me to go back now because he is a very good coach and I will learn a lot.

'I think there is a lot of talent in the squad and we can actually qualify for the big tournaments.'

Trapattoni today;

'The moment I left him, I told him, "I will wait for you", and he said to me, "okay".
 I spoke with him and normally when I speak with a player, I look the player in the eyes. The eyes never lie. I have trust he will come back.'

We shouldnt have to wait Trap. I know he's young, but so is the majority of our present squad; this lad obviously has issues with playing for his country; but what are they??! Did Hunty really scare him that much Big%20smile

True Trap, but with little Stevie, the wheel is spinning but the hamster's dead.

He's a fckn fruitcake.  Seems worse than Cassano to me (Trap mentioned Cassano the other day as being another with "issues" during his Italian Managership)........Looper, total looper.

Its a strange one alright, When Hunty was on turbridy few weeks back there was something mentioned about Stephen Ireland getting loadsa stick over his hair and he took it bad, something like that anyway.  These upcoming friendlies would ave been the ideal time for him to come back.

Believe the reason he cant turn up for the Serbia game is because it clashes with a charity thing, well so he says, St Winifred’s catholic school in Stockport have asked to help re-release the song they had at number one below in 1980,they had Bob Geldof lined up but he is in Africa that week I think.

Not sure if one of these Grandma’s on screen is related to him, believe he is not sure either.
