Fifa officials 'sell 2018 World Cup bid votes'

Two Fifa officials are alleged to have offered to sell their votes in the contest to host the 2018 World Cup, according to a Sunday Times report.

The newspaper claims Nigerian Amos Adamu, a Fifa executive committee member, asked for £500,000 for a "personal project", against Fifa rules.

And Oceania Football Confederation president Reynald Temarii, wanted money for a sports academy for his vote.

Fifa will decide the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups on 2 December.

England are competing to host the tournament in eight years time, as well as Russia and joint bids from Spain and Portugal and Holland and Belgium.

A 24-strong committee will decide by secret ballot who should host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

No surprises there. Built on corruption, and what else to expect with Blatter at the helm. Only reason he's president is because he bought most of the votes in Africa and Oceania.Bastards, every single on of them.

The footage, filmed by undercover Sunday Times journalists, shows Adamu wanting money to be paid to him directly for endorsing a bid.

The reporters had posed as lobbyists for a United States bid. The US decided on Friday to withdraw from the running for the 2018 World Cup and instead concentrate on the 2022 competition.

In the video, Adamu was asked whether the money for a "private project" would have an effect on the way he voted, he replied: "Obviously, it will have an effect. of course it will. Because certainly if you are to invest in that, that means you also want the vote."

Fifa has so far not responded to the allegations.

Cúnts of the highest order

Wouldn't be shocked if the Russians and Qataris got the 2018 and 2022 WC's as they would be the most likely if not the only one prepared to hand over cash for this.

Yeah the current World Cup winners at the time along with Bulgaria and a decent Montenegro side that was a real handy draw. We only went unbeaten in a group which should have seen us win all our games

New FIFA bribe claims made about Qatar

Tuesday, 10 May 2011 12:04

New allegations that two FIFA executive committee members were paid $1.5m US dollars (€1.04m) to vote for Qatar's 2022 World Cup bid emerged today.

The shock claims were highlighted by MPs at the culture, media and sport committee in the English parliament.

Tory MP Damian Collins said that evidence submitted by the Sunday Times, which the committee will publish, claimed that FIFA vice-president Issa Hayatou from Cameroon and Jacques Anouma from the Ivory Coast were paid $1.5m US dollars by Qatar.

FIFA's ethics committee last year banned two other executive committee members after a Sunday Times investigation into World Cup bidding.

Collins said: 'The Sunday Times' submission, and this is to be published by us later, claims that 1.5million dollars was paid to FIFA executive committee members Issa Hayatou and Jacques Anouma who went on to vote for Qatar.'

Collins said the submission claimed Qatar specifically employed a fixer to arrange deals with African members for their votes.

Going to be hard to prove the English claims as they were probably done by word of mouth. The paraguay guy looking for a knighthood is funny.

But these other guys that the sunday times claim to have evidence on could be f**ked.

Angry absolute scumbags!
In fairness there always had to have been something dodgy going on for Qatar to be awarded the WC.
Disgraceful but not one bit surprising for FIFA.
