beaten in the air by vokes for Burnley’s goal. Be harsh to fault him though

Strange that he was left out of the last squad, when we'd switched to a back 3 in recent games and he's a left-footed, Premier League-level central defender. I could say the same thing about Cunningham, another who'd be comfortable playing on the left of a 3, as well as being able to cover for the injured Ward. Hopefully we've seen the last of these kind of bizarre, illogical decisions.

He had a thigh injury earlier this month but was fit enough to play immediately before the international break (against Bournemouth) and immediately afterwards (tonight).

What's the story with Clark? Injured or completely out of favour?

The latter unfortunately.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

He's played 14 games this year, so completely out of favour is a bit strong.

He's played 3 games in the last month. 2 of which were full 90 mins. Spent the following 2 on the bench. Last squad appearance was on bench against spurs 2nd February. I'd call it a dicky patch more than anything.

Recovered sufficiently from a knee injury suffered in January to appear on the Newcastle bench today.

Almost forgot about him.
5m seems like a lot in his case - but not in todays market i guess.

Needs to get out of there if he is not in SB's plans. Would be a great move.

Yeah, although not sure how helpful it would be for his first team prospects. He'd probably just be swapping the Newcastle bench for the Palace one as Sahko and Tomkins are very much the established pairing there at the moment.

Still only 29 so not bad business for Palace.

He always had a tendency to commit absolute costly howlers unfortunately.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.
