Had a sex change, name change and now plays for Man City. Think her name is De Bruyne now. Edited by Trap junior - 10 Jan 2019 at 11:59am |

I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995" |

Apparently so. Have been thinking about this since seeing that article and can't help but compare this with the debates on here about players who are not playing and the less they play for us the more their perceived ability and impact increases. I would put Brian Kerr in this category in terms of ppl calling for him to have a role within the FAI also. Not that I am calling for the reinstatement of JD, but saying that I hope Quinn wont be built up as some sort of saviour. |

It doesn't matter who it is unless the whole structure changes. It wouldn't surprise that if someone like Quinn came in that they would resign within a year in frustration.

Changing a whole structure at the best of times is tricky. You also have to work against the exisiting culture and loyalties within the organisation. Quinn and a new board (which would be required) would need patience from the public and it is a long term project.

Niall's always struck me as very much an establishment figure so I'm not surprised to see his name linked with the role. Would all that much change with Quinn at the helm? I'm not sure. What's really required is a complete clearout of the old guard and major institutional reform.
What we'll probably end up with is a Medvedev-style figurehead promoted from within, with Delaney continuing to pull all of the strings.

I'd be very surprised if he took the job with Delaney still in the organisation. Can't see it happening.
