Yes its very much that type of league the championship any team can beat any team.
I've got a bet on Stoke finishing in in the top four this season.

After the first 8 games it was looking more like keeping out of the bottom three would be the target. After 10 years in the premier league, many of the divisional stalwarts viewed Stoke as a scalp and with the defence broken from the premier league relegation, it's taken Rowett a while to fix it.
The Championship is very competitive. Even the weakest squads are hard to breakdown, which means the points are shared around much more. In Stoke's favour is that their squad has plenty of depth. This should help when injuries/suspensions occur, later in the season. It so unlike the premier league, where a handful of sides dominate against the lesser lights almost every week. A great run of form now; ten league games unbeaten. Brum up next. These were the last side to beat Stoke, so revenge would be sweet. Your wager has a chance!

Yep. Gone from having a great chance of making playoffs to also rans in the space of three games. Real fans would give him till the end of the season or at least till Playoff possibility is gone. Online fans have polls, etc looking for him to be gone. Hoofball only works when you're winning. Rowett can't blame the inherited squad either when 7 regular starting players are the players he signed. Grim times. Your bet is fecked.

He gone. Not surprising though as the Shrewsbury result put the cap on it. Stoke will shortly have their fourth manager in just over twelve months. Nobody gets much time these days it seems.
Expectations after 10 seasons in the Premier League are still very high. I wonder who'll be next in the revolving seat? Moyes? Allerdyce? Pearson? Pardew? O'Neill? Depressing list of candidates, unless they surprise us all and go left field with an up and coming continental manager.

David Moyes and Slavisa Jokanovic are the two early favourites with the bookies.

TBH, I knew feck all about him other than a cursory look at how well Luton have done over the past few seasons with him as manager. His sides appear to have an attacking flair, so for the first time in a long time Stokies might be watching something that resembles how football should be played. After the hoof ball merchant that was Pulis (practical and probably right at the time), Mark Hughes quickly moved into fearful tactics and Lambert could barely win a game with his inherited squad. Rowett's tactics were just simply not to lose games, again stifling all positivity from his players. However, I'll be surprised if Jones can get them quickly playing his way. This season is probably a 'write off', unless he's given a wad of cash to bring in new talent as he'll definitely need some different personnel. Given how well Luton had been doing in league 1, I'd imagine some of their young players might make ideal candidates, although they may be reluctant to derail a possible promotion by losing them. I just hope Stoke get some sense of stability, which has quickly gone from the club after Pulis left.
