Champions League Qualification rounds,BIG difference. He has got one goal in the Europa League, that's about the height of it.

Never understood why people do that. Posting something which is incorrect, and then bringing it back up at a future date when the facts have changed as if that makes their original claim retrospectively accurate. It doesn't, the claim was still was wrong.
We're decent enough..

I understand it was less a deliberate assist, and more of a mis-hit shot fortuitously falling to Yoshida.

How was his overall play? Nice to see him get a run of games prior to our double-header.

Absolutely devoid of confidence, it's such a shame. For his own sake, I think he should drop down a league where he can start scoring and regain confidence

I spoke about Long a few days ago when someone said he should start because "it's Moldova" , I disagreed because when a striker can't hit and barn door it's better to pull him out of the spot light instead of persisting with him.

He should be dropped simple as.

He's 31.

Preparing for retirement now.

Reality is Shane Long won't be our main striker in the next campaign it probably will be Scott Hogan. Or Maguire, or O'Brien. A new generation comes through, we start again.

He should be dropped on Monday for another striker, Maguire or Hogan. Throw them into the deep end. Wales done it with a 17 year old.

He's 30, why on earth would he be "preparing for retirement"?

It should change right now because we need to win on Monday.

He needs to be dropped.

I'd start Murphy and spring Long from the bench if he's needed. He is far and away the best striker available to us, but clearly he's also incredibly low on confidence.
We're decent enough..

Great lad. But I think he's finished, he doesn't trouble defenders with hi pace or work rate any more!

Long hasn't scored a goal for long time - and it shows. Murphy will start against Wales.

cant believe the stick Long is getting..yes he is very low on confidence cuz of his drought..but he didn't hide and still kept trying to do the right things...i think however he should maybe come on if needed on monday .i think he suits that role..and the way things are going it would take some of the presure off
