He said in Dublin Zoo that the Penguin section was full of nuns and that the African section was full of taxi drivers.

Is it racist to say that a lot of taxi drivers in Ireland are African or have African heritage?

Disappointing to see people choosing to use their ethnicity when it suits.

At least he didn’t say that “young” Doherty was the future of Irish football

very good interview on Claire byrne with Emer today.   Big fan of Tommy Tiernan myself and I think he is right to drop the unfunny joke.

Was this the gig where he compared taxi drivers in Dublin to animals in Dublin Zoo? Shocked
I was gonna come and say what's wrong with that because they can be a bunch of animals at times but after reading it f**king hell. He directly compared black Irish taxi drivers to monkeys not just taxi drivers in general.
As I said, I wasn’t there Friday night but on Saturday thats not what was said, there was no direct comparison other than sl*gging taxi drivers as a grouping.

It was the night after that wan walked out in a strop, but there was a gag about that on the Saturday. Not sure how he worded it the night before but id imagine it was identical and it was no worse than the treatment, travellers got, English people got, Irish people got, and a host of other groups etc got.

In fact, it was gig of equality free of discrimination as everybody got touched on Clap

This. The whole point of Tommy’s show is guests opening up, he’d know this. I get he’s a private person but it was very poor

I can see it being reproduced all over soon. The Yanks will be at it first.

He did it on radio first at electric picnic I think.
