Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has called up CSKA Sofia striker Cillian Sheridan for the forthcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Armenia and Andorra.

The 21-year-old former Celtic player was not in the initial 25-man party named by Trapattoni’s assistant Marco Tardelli last week, but has now been drafted in.

The Republic open their Group B campaign against Armenia in Yerevan next Friday evening, before taking on Andorra at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin the following Tuesday.

Good point. Quinn was never the most talented footballer and used to get dogs abuse at Highbury from the fans, but concentrated on the skills he did have and look how he turned out.
